I randomly found my old BMW M3 from 7 years ago on Autotrader & bought it back! Here is the story behind it all.

How my original BMW M3 ended back up in my garage. It gets a bit serious during this, apologies, found it tough filming some of it but important you all see why I’ve bought it back. Not just being flashy for the sake of it for once.

Wow hearing about when you got the call about your dad in hospital reminded me so much from when I received a very similar call about my wife in hospital. Had to drive from Norwich to London St Thomas hospital not knowing if I’d make it in time. Fair play to you for leaving something highly personal to you in and showing your emotions. Must admit brought a tear to my eyes, possibly because I could closely relate to the situation. Keep up the videos they do normally make me smile, although very jealous of your car collection!!

It’s a very cool car Tom. In the world of overly competent machines that have no soul, I find cars like this refreshing. It’s seen a life, it’s done it’s duty, it’s been through the good time’s, and the bad and it got you safely where you needed to be. There is something humbling about that. Most won’t understand it but the emotions it makes you feel are undeniable. So for me it’s priceless and should be kept and enjoyed. Honestly looks cooler driving about in this than some new generic fast car in my opinion. You know as I get older and I can afford nicer and nicer cars, the last 10 of which have all been new and all very good. But the truth is, they mean very little to me. It’s actually all my earlier cars I can’t stop thinking about. The ones that hold all the memories of when I was dirt poor and did all the mods myself. The ones that ferried my friends around or I drove just for the sake of driving. The ones that had seen me through the good times and the bad and always had my back. I’d give anything to have those back on my life. So congrats Tom. You’re a lucky man, you found something priceless. Hold on to it. It’s good for the soul....

I've never really commented on a youtube video before but I have to say Tom this struck a chord with me. I didn't live with my dad and saw him 2 or 3 times a week but I hadn't been on holiday with him since I was 6. The summer before i left to university we had enough money to do a trip over to the states (his favourite place), just us two and have some fun before I moved up north to uni. Unfortunately 6 weeks before our trip he passed away unexpectedly. He liked cars, we'd go to car shows and would always listen when I talked about this car or that car so I thought I'd use that holiday money and buy my first 'proper' fun car. Every time I see it and drive it, it reminds me of him and much like you say, it's just a piece of metal but the sentimental value is what makes it mean everything and that's something that will never be lost. He's proud of you Tom, much like I hope my dad is proud of me too.
