As a 2017 Camaro 2SS owner, I noticed a lot of the same positives that you pointed out are also found on the 6th gen Camaro. The interior (while not as nice as the Vette) is miles better than the 5th gen, and the Camaro has essentially the same powertrain and technology as the C7. A lot of people are understandably excited about the C8, but imo the C7 and gen 6 Camaros are very underrated vehicles. Both are great looking, comfortable (for sports cars), fairly practical (again for sports cars), performance-focused, and sound amazing

@@169abr The 2SS is genuinely fantastic. I remember back then (before covid prices) I was also looking at a 911 997.2, and I chose the Camaro over it. The comfort, aesthetic, performance, and technology for the $ is insane. For $34K I was able to get a V8, dual exhaust, mag ride, a HUD, heated/cooled sets, leather, and much much more. Have really enjoyed my Watkins Glen Gray C7 Grand Sport Z07/7speed manual coupe since I bought it new in 2017. Not even a little bit interested in the C8 - although kudos to the Chevy engineers in developing the tech for the mid engine car. Always fun to watch videos of C7R's thundering down European racetracks - never get tired of that pushrod V8 song! To have one lurking in the garage is just flat out fun. Installing some Akrapovic axle backs soon to make it even more NA/Grand Sporty. Great review - especially for those of us not obsessed with the latest "bright shiny object".

The C7 has always been one of my least favorite corvette generations but now you’ve convinced me to give it a shot. A couple thoughts 1) completely agree with your thoughts on DoD. My GP GXP had DoD and I had to have it turned off as soon as possible, car drove so much better without it and I didn’t notice any change in fuel economy. 2) I feel like the C7 is the first time the automatic corvette wasn’t a compromise (in terms of performance) compared to the manual. Previous autos were for people who wanted a corvette but couldn’t drive manuals and old guys with bad knees. I’m surprised you actually like/recommend it.

I purchased my '17 GS from a private seller for $50k. Had 9k miles on it. I replaced the front splitter and the middle piece underneath. Seller said wife torn it up parking. I can see how that's an issue. That front sticks out farther than you think. I lowered it, and that makes it even more prone to damage. Really have to pay attention. The car is awesome. Drives great and is fun. My average fuel use is around 21mpg and it shows my best at 34mpg! That was on a road trip. I have since plugged in the 4 cylinder bypass. Still gets better gas milage than I expected. Get on it and it's going down to 15mpg.

The 2019 Corvette Grand Sport is such a beautiful car. Chevrolet should've never made such a drastic change from their original Corvette design; the 2019 C7 Corvette Grand Sport is a GREAT design, maybe the best, all they had to do was continue building on top of it. The C8 z06 has like an overpriced poor mans Ferrari design, the C8 is what you buy when you can't afford a Ferrari, but it's still not as beautiful as a Ferrari. Corvette had their own visual style, you knew you were looking at a Vette at the first glance, until they released the C8 models smh

The balance for the C7 is 50/50, whereas for the C8, it's 40/60 (front/rear) empty. GM says it changes by adding a driver and passenger (duh). I, personally, don't like the looks of the C8 so, I won't be trading in my C7 for one. It's the BEST Corvette I've ever owned. I absolutely love it.

Analog gauges are never pointless, just as an analog dial wrist watch is never outdated and, in fact, is the fastest way to read the time, from a multitude of viewing angles. Why? ‘cylinder on demand’ as long as it brings reliability issues, costs resources to implement and brings marginal fuel economy it is likely it is not more environmentally friendly, but it was probably a trick to pass emissions that can’t be proven it actually produces more emissions on long term. Lately many companies have implemented similar strategies that don’t seem to work so well on long term.
@vadam74073 ай бұрын
The act of fuel management system is awful tears up your motor and messes up your transmission! I bought a ranged technology to put in my code reader, and it turns the four-cylinder off . Also had my transmission fluid changed and the filter and put shutter fix in it so far so good! Recommend that you do a triple flush on your transmission . Of course they don’t wanna pay for it, even though this problem has lawsuits about it.

His center console armrest leather has separated and looks like a wrinkled forehead. My 19' GS's driver door panel was replaced because the armrest leather separated looked like wrinkled bicep fat. Also, my passenger side rear quarter window trim separated from the outer panel. My brake switch's chrome delaminated and was replaced. Note, Both of our vehicles have very low miles, are 7 spd manuals, garage kept, 3 bucket hand washed and well maintained. Last, the issue with GS and ZO6 wheels cracking and warping, GM denied it was an issue. I hate these videos! Not addressing GM's build quality issues is why they continue.
