I don't think he is at all. There's EXTENSIVE case law in your country on the topic of boundaries. A gate must only be able to be closed, it mustn't NEED to be closed. And you do not need signage, you do not even need a fence, a mere 'delineation' can be made by a change in the colour of concrete, or even flora used as a boundary line. So the superintendent was right for calling his BS out, unfortunately he isn't versed in the law. Property laws are not designed to be foolproof for the lowest common denominator as frauditors make out; they only have to deal with a reasonable person. And OP's expectations were unreasonable.

@jeremynorton53058 ай бұрын
Perhaps you're not familiar with English and its common usage of words with subtle differences in meaning depending upon context, but the word "my" actually does not necessarily imply ownership. If you spend a day paying attention, you might see schoolchildren referring to something they don't actually own as "my desk", or workers referring to a building space they don't own as "my office", or bus drivers referring to a bus they drive but don't own as "my bus." Native speakers of average intelligence understand this and don't read into it any sort of implication that title to the object is held by the speaker. ESLs and stupid people often struggle with it though.

@@skunk12 Are you ESL or something? I hope you didn't pay tuition for your basic reading education, because you deserve a refund if you did. You laugh, and all cap "especially", but do you understand what "especially" means? As per Merriam-Webster: especially - adverb 2a: in particular : particularly ex. "food seems cheaper, especially meats" Note how, in the example, we see that "especially" doesn't mean "exclusively." "Especially meats" means that meat is particularly cheaper, but other food is also cheaper. Oh, and you missed the word that came after possessor, didn't you? Agent... hmm, what does that mean? Is the person in charge of a place an agent of the owner and possessor of that place? (I'll let you Google that for yourself. Prepare to feel dumb). So, thanks for proving "my" point (note: I don't actually own the point, I'm just asserting it). The word my is especially appropriate to use when connoting possession OR agency, but it can be used even without possession or agency, as long as the person and the thing are somehow related. Man, stupid people will argue the dumbest shit sometimes.

Nobody in the U.S. can honestly say that a face mask and sunglasses is weird. As IAM said, we all lived with it for years.

Ed has a horrible attitude. He's been bossing kids around for too long. And Ed's attitude about everything being his.

Good job Steve standing your ground with that CEO. It's an actual lesson in life to watch you do that because you are fighting with your words and rights without violence. The CEO is a tall intimidating guy and your respectful well spoken response to his aggresive demands was a lesson in life ...proper tone and word usage can completely switch the situation .. ...my heart was pounding for you when you had to stand up to him. I salute you. I think you should join the airforce reserves as a public affairs officer. Go tour with the armed forces see the world and get paid for it
