I think it also gives a chance for reflection. I’ve been trying to 100% complete Assassin’s Creed DLCs, and I think I’ve been making more honorable and respectable choices than I would’ve made a year or two ago. For some reason, I care for random npc quest givers as if my choices truly matter in the grand scheme of things. It’s truly strange how things can change😂

It’s not just a game. It’s freedom. It’s happiness. It is a hammer that breaks the chains that bind us to the sad reality of the world. It’s the source of happiness for a many people. It’s feeling content. It’s feeling loved. It’s being the person you never could be in the real world. It is beautiful. It means so much than just a controller and a screen. There is so much in video games that means so much more. It is being allowed to feel something in the bleak reality of the world. A video game has everything we could never have in the world. It means so much more than what we think. It is a meaningful story.

This touched my heart... Games tell stories, it doesn't matter if its just a game. The idea of that stories is beautiful, the idea of beeing a human who has feelings, no matter how cold you might seem to the outside. Feelings are a gift, pain is the price of beeing alive, and noone should blame for having feelings.

I was talking to a girl at my school after I found her crying over a book, I asked how good the book was and she told me it was the best She then asked “Have you ever read a book like that? Read a story that gets you so attached to the characters, or just the world, that it makes you cry to see them fall or win?” “Can’t say I have, but I have played a few games with stories that made me cry” “Games? They’re just games, how could they make you cry?” “Well to me, what you hold is just a book, but to you, it’s so much more, that’s how I feel about games.” She and I never became friends, but it was nice to change her outlook, and even recommend a few games she try out so she could see what I meant

Everytime I play Red Dead Redemption 2, no matter how many times I've played it, I cry at Arthur's death, and his face whenever he says "I'm afraid" always breaks my heart and brings me to the verge of tears. It's such an amazing game, it pulls my heart strings, it makes me cry, it makes me happy, it lets me escape reality, and most importantly, it's my favorite game of all time. Rest in peace Arthur Morgan, John Marston, Abigail Marston, Molly O'Shea, Miss Grimshaw, Lenny, Hosea. And rest in hell, Dutch Van der linde, Agent Milton, agent Ross, Javier, Bill Williamson, and most of all, Micah Bell.

I wish I could send this to my father but I know he could never understand. I don’t play games for mindless entertainment to escape the “real world” I play games emptiness I feel after an incredible story, for the tears in my eyes at the sight of a character so strong finally break, for someone you got to know so personally perish, for the way it brings me and the people I love together, the very real stories I personally can relate to, the emotions felt that I can’t see in real life because social media lied to us to us telling us that if we feel them we are less of a man, the joy that comes with that high score or beating that really hard level and even more so when you’re doing it with friends, the announcement trailers for games that can make me shout aloud out of excitement in a way nothing else possibly could, for a story that touches my heart in a way a book or a movie simply can’t. Because it isn’t YOU, you aren’t IN the movie you aren’t IN the book and no matter how much you put yourself in their shoes you are still merely a character on the side line. When I finish an amazing movie or an incredible book I don’t have that emptiness that very real depression that I get when I finished Persona 5 Royal for the first time, when I watched Joel make his final choice in The Last of Us to protect the girl who he loved as of she was his biological daughter, watching Chloe drive away while Max was stuck looking back at the destruction after the storm when I finished Life Is Strange, the incredible feeling of diving though the sky to save Zelda in Tears of the Kingdom something I never even came close to expecting, and so so so many more other incredible experiences I could only get through video games that all felt so REAL because it was ME who did all of those things. Something my parents or really anyone in my family would ever really understand. It’s more than just a game, it’s more than just a story, it’s truly an incredible journey that you embarked on and obstacles that YOU overcame. Choices you had to make and consequences you had to suffer, if none of them really mattered, then why would I bother playing? If it wasn’t important, why would I feel empty after the incredible story unfolds out until it’s a flat piece of paper upon which the story. my story, has be told.

“When I was a young man, I had liberty, but I did not see it. I had time, but I did not know it. And I had love, but I did not feel it. Many decades would pass before I understood the meaning of all three. And now, the twilight of my life, this understanding has passed into contentment. Love, liberty, and time: once so disposable, are the fuels that drive me forward. And love, most especially, mio caro. For you, our children, our brothers and sisters. And for the vast and wonderful world that gave us life, and keeps us guessing. Endless affection, mia Sofia. Forever yours, Ezio Auditore.”

Its not just a game, it makes history and reminds us of the journey and memories we make along the way. The quote from Arthur yelling John to be a Man, it makes me think about how being a man is being there for your family, for the ones you love. Being a man isn't dying in battle for what you believe in, that may be part of it, but being a man is being there for the ones you love, the ones that need you, and sometimes that means turning from battle, and letting others die for you.

Storytelling moves people….regardless of what media/format it gets to them from. Through games, the player is often allowed affect change in some way, altering the story in some fashion, but regardless, a game is absolutely no different than any other form of storytelling in how deeply they can grasp someone. To that end, we’ve had some great experiences, but we’ve also met, loved, and lost many people along the way.

We've all grown up on many games, some of them have never included a story nor cinematics, Some were games which soon vanished off the stores/systems, Some of us can only re-live those moments by bringing back past memories when games were genuinely fun, where you could have a laugh and smile, sometimes they brought tears to our eyes but it was because we connected so well with the character or character's, not everything is the same tho, time flies much too quick sadly, I miss the old days of gaming, I miss the old games when moments were cherished and made to last, times we've lost sadly, it's been a pleasure gaming everyone, it's been a journey that's still continuing but it's different, it's not the same, it never will be, just I'm glad I was the one of many whom grew up the way I did, when Gaming was in its prime, Gg's everyone, May your roads meet good ends, just know tho..moments can be made, just it will be hard, Very hard, harder than before, stay safe everyone and happy gaming, Gg's everyone, Gg's
