Karin is now 71yrs, its incredible to me where the time has gone. Karin went on to become a medical Doctor with a speciality in spines, she invented a couple of spinal discs and is also world renowned for her many different types of research. The Spinefoundation in Germany is named in her honour and she retired in 2012. This is one remarkable woman.

Yes, but there's a very specific type of strength that gymnasts must condition their bodies for in order to get their body to be able to manipulate itself in order to take advantage of physics. Without the strength, they would not be able to control their actions enough to use physics to do different types of skills.

And what goes around comes around. I hear what a lot of you are saying, power moves are rewarded, but watch the Dutch, the Belgians, even some of the Russians and more - they are getting points from turning moves. Nobody spins like the Wevers’ on the beam! And Sanne won beam in 2016 doing that!! And now you must have more artistry on the floor and beam, it’s in the code now.

@@Santiago_Olmos Yep! I know. I remember the ‘72 Olympics (including the terrorist attack on the Israeli Team). But especially Olga’s performance because even at 12 I loved watching Olympic gymnastics the most. Her performance was such a big deal, if asked from memory if she’d taken the Gold, I would have sworn she had! It’s sad, but I don’t even remember this girl Janz.
