I imagine HL:A would've revitalized Valve's confidence in making games after such a long drought of nothing (and Artifact) for years, I'd expect to see them making more games if anything. I don't mean to say I expect them to throw Half-Life 3 or Half-Life: Barney out the door any time soon, but there's probably a group in the offices considering how to move forward with the franchise if not already working on something.

@@faceless2302 They're always planning and developing games. The problem is they almost never release games these days. They have a massive list of content and ideas that were cut. Projects and demos tested and played around with, all just to test the waters, but it'll be a long wait before they dive again.

I'm sure Valve isn't all the same people from the past couple decades that just meander and scrap everything over and over, they've probably got a lot of new employees that are seeing the success of HL:A and are enthusiastic to get out there and actually make something for their careers' sake. I expect this to be a confidence boost for the newbies and a good indicator to the older higher ups that they can afford to pass the torch and give them more control. I expect to see a few Valve games this decade, maybe even another HL title.

Right? I replayed Dark Interval recently (A mod based on the Half Life 2 Beta continuity, if you don't know) and I had to just keep stopping and taking screenshots. I get the same feeling with replaying Half Life 2 and Gmod maps, as well. There's just something about Source 1 you don't get with any other engine.

Barney is a cosmic being that can be in multiple places at once as seen in black mesa, the container makes all the barneis come into one place and supressing his dimensional warping powers, now that he is free he will slowly multiply once again, and with his new disguise, no one can ever know if hes been multiplying or not.

When i played HL:Alyx I legitimately thought it was going to be barney that we freed from the prison. I did start having my doubts once I actually got inside the floating thing but until then all i had to go on was that he was one of the people to get out of black mesa. Since i knew Gordon was with the Gman i assumed it must be barney, especially since he hadn’t shown up in the game yet, and tbh it would just have been a funny twist.
