Enjoy your informative content. Bought a ‘24 GMC Sierra Denali with the 3.0l TD this spring for towing a 6000 lb travel trailer. Just finished a 3000 mile trip to Oregon and Washington. The beast tows like a dream, averaging 14-15 mpg while towing and super comfortable to drive. Total DEF consumption for the entire trip was under 10 gallons. @1randyharbin9 ай бұрын
My ZR2 has 1700 miles on it and the oil level hasn't changed, if it is using some during breakin, I can't see it on the stick, I also didn't use any oil in my old LM2. I believe the largest factor in oil usage (but not the ONLY possible factor) is proper breakin and heating and fully cooling the engine to greater temps over time to slowly relieve the stresses in the metals from the manufacturing process. The 6.2 is a higher horsepower option with less torque, much worse mileage, and a reasonable chance of lifter failure (still) at some point in it's life. The 3.0 LZ0 is the lower horsepower BUT higher torque choice that doesn't have DFM or lifter failures due to being collapsable, and the MPG's while lower than my LM2 and with DEF usage a little higher, I completely expected these things going from an RST/LM2 to the ZR2/LZ0. I, for one, am not disappointed.

I had a MY23 Silverado ZR2 and loved it, but I would have preferred the diesel. I'm with you, it should have had an LT4 but GM must not had wanted to pay the Government tax for mileage as those fines eventually caught up to Dodge and Ram. I liked the 6.2 well enough but I would have preferred the LZ0 had it otherwise been available in MY23. You don't make money off buying and selling this trucks every year so if I were to get out from the 6.2 V8 and into an LZ0 ZR2 in MY24, it was likely going to cost me. (Thanks, GM!) I ordered an equally equipped MY24 ZR2 in silver but before it came in, I found a heavily discounted Ram 2500 Rebel with 6.7 Cummins for like $14k off MSRP and bought it instead. Gave up nice camera rear view mirror and the color HUD, but gained a handful of other obvious things. I figured if I were going to make the move to a diesel, that truck may check all of my boxes and provide a little better value in the long run. Time will tell. I was considering a 2500 HD Silverado ZR2 with the L5P, but you won't beat the fuel economy and cost of ownership of the LZ0. I loved the cameras on the ZR2, particularly when parking and how I could see all four wheels. The ZR2 package was awesome; put that on a Tahoe with the LZ0 and I might trade my wife's Navigator in for one of those.

GM dosent care that you where a loyal customer for 25 years !! GM is junk, ordered a toyota for reliability and the residual value . The ZR2 is okay for 90000 canadian , but not a great truck . If you want a working navigation system , you will need to spend 20 to 30 dollars plus taxes a month on a subscription service . The stero system is weak for a top end trim like this. Fuel milage for the 6.2 with recommended premium fuel is terrible !!! Better of buying a toyota Tundra !!

At least your smart enough to unload it before issues come. If you work on them; then your aware of wet belt for oil pump & costly repair. Try keeping one over 150K & see how durable it is?

Good video, love the ZR2 package, especially the suspension. However, I am a Toyota guy who drives a Tundra TRD PRO, and there's just no way I would give up that kind of reliability for a Chevy. Love the idea of the Duramax 3.0, wish Toyota would offer a Diesel in the Tundra. Good luck with your new truck, you are going to need it, lmao.

I wonder what gears are available currently for the GM as I know in later years that has been commented on that there had been no aftermarket optional gear ratios and I don't know about this truck but I believe it has been where the standard diff vs the max tow option rear diff are physically different and am speculating that even the factory gear options would not interchange. In fact DW, can you find out some info on that for a future video, what options are out there to swap gears if desired, not only if factory 3.73 will fit but if there are even lower geared sets on the market.

GM never ceases to amaze. Even on thee highest torm level they still ship them with defects. The steering wheel being that far out has a concern for the electric rack. Sloppiness for the badge and fender flare. Not really good examples for high dollar. Im pickers aren't that deep for one.. or that foolish to let them charge it. I like my 2022 refresh RST 5.3. It fit our budget.
@traviscrown91899 ай бұрын
So you have a truck that fits your budget. You came here just to complain. The issues are minimal fixable issues. These are all trucks that come off a factory line. Just like ford or dodge or whoever. You’re the person that wants a handmade truck for no money.
@garyh.80829 ай бұрын
@@traviscrown9189 I guarantee you that they had a lazy azz operator who didn't center the steering wheel during alignment after the truck was driven off the assembly line. That device has a bubble just like a level and it centers itself to virtually make it impossible to F up. It relies on the operator to do his or HER job properly. Most of these operators are high seniority, that being said, some just ain't worth 40 dollars an hour.
