Not everyone hated him. I saw in a documentary where one of his co-stars said that Oliver saw she was upset and bought her a nice bouquet of flowers and was very sensitive and attentive to her. "He was a nice guy", she said. Can't recall her name, but she spoke kindly of Oliver with that story, but was also aware and confirmed that she was sad about Oliver's other side. Oliver was a man of multiple layers (as are we all).

Get your facts straight He didn't die in his hotel. I was in the pub and I spoke to the owner who said Oliver died in his seat and nobody noticed for quite a while. My brother and I sat in the exact spot and had a drink together to remember him. We even went upstairs where he used to arm wrestle the sailors and always win.

Yes, he was a bit of a rebel rouser. However, he was a really nice guy . Bought a stately UK mansion , Broome Hall, raised horses, when other celebs cleared off to low tax countries he stuck with old Blighty despite being taxed to the hilt via our socialist government at the time.

As I have posted elsewhere, this was a brilliant actor, very versatile. All people did was laugh and encourage the destructive side he had. What he needs was real friends who understood and help nurture his excellence not self serving egotists.

She was not much of a mother. She alienated them from their father, then she sought men she viewed as "manly" ( husband was a conscientious objector) dragged Oliver away from his older brother, and his father, but then ignored him, was not affectionate, always had servants to handle the kids. Be and his brothers were close as they got older, but his parents were a complete mess.
