All they need to do is remove the dpad and the right stick and just slot a wide multi touch track pad and bam: true successor to the Steam Controller.

Honestly I'm Happy to have a controller that can update through the steam deck

I tried to replicate that "jittery" issue and I couldn't do it. Even got a video on my channel using the controller wirelessly and it works fine. Not saying you didn't have an issue with it but it may not happen to everyone. I'd also argue the D-pad is damn near perfect in my opinion.

Would be ideal if it had some haptics. I'll keep an eye on this, I like the idea of having a dedicated official controller for Steam rather than using my Switch Pro and Dualsense Edge.

You need to review Fantech WGP15 (or GP15 as the Wired-Only version), for a fraction or similar price it has more features than this.

Does the Steam Logo button bring up any menus on the Steam Deck? What about the Quick Access Button (3 Dots). Does that bring up the Quick Access Menu on the Steam Deck?

Yes to both

Thank you for confirming that. How is the D-Pad on it for Fighting Games? That’s what I will primarily be using it for on my Steam Deck.

Gyro jitters seems like a bluetooth issue. I got jitters on my PC motherboard's bluetooth, but was much better on the included dongle bluetooth and on the Deck OLED's bluetooth. I have also tried it wired and the gyro is perfect with it. So I think it is about the quality of the blue tooth receiver. I found the capacitive thumb sticks to only register on the top of the sticks. I could get used to this but as the OLED Deck senses touch even on the outer rim of the cap. I was able to remedy this with the jsaux steamdeck thumb stick grips, they extend the capacitive area to the whole of the grip so anywhere you touch the grip going to be capacitive. Was this controller worth 100 on ebay from an importer? Nope. Get a ps4 or ps5 controller. Heck a switch pro controller. But was I going to buy it anyway? Yeah because I am flick stick gyro fanboy.

I couldn't replicate that jitter issue. Got a vid on my channel using it wirelessly and it worked fine. But there is another guy who also had the same issue, so I don't know.

When you do your gyro settings in games, with this controller. Does the gyro behave the same as the Dualsense? or is the sensitivity higher or lower?

PS4 controllers don't have capacitive thumbsticks, though

They're on sale in Japan. You'd need to import it.

Copy and paste of a comment I made on another video. Didn’t feel like retyping this: I saw someone else saying that this thing most likely exists to help Valve grow the presence of Steam in Japan. A lot of games work with an Xbox controller, and since Xbox’s presence is basically nonexistent in Japan they decided to work with a local company to make a controller that functions like an Xbox one. The guy was also saying a lot of the same things you did where that company’s controllers aren’t outright bad, but they aren’t good either. They’re in the awkward middle ground where they’re functional, but feel cheap. He was also saying that this isn’t an indication of Valve making a Steam Machine 2 or a new incarnation of their weird controller (I remember having that contorller. Not sure if we still have it. I think the thing might not have worked, so we got rid of it. I’ve heard the people who like that controller really like it). If they were to dip their toes back into the console market they’d most likely make a controller that’s basically a more compact version of the Steam Deck’s controls.

Microsoft controllers are readily available in electronic stores in Japan, at least each time that I've been there so it's odd Hori just didn't do a normal global release.

Noooo where is the famous "steam mouse pads?"😢😢😢 steam controllers was famous for that

I hate haptic feedback and vibration and I hate the extra weight that it adds to the controller so the thought of a controller without it sounds good
