i'm going to be honest, this was such a mediocre recipe... i've been cooking for many years and i made this because he claimed its an easier version of the chinese dong po rou... first off the difficulty is about the same as the original dong po rou but the original version tastes so much better, like not even close. so why would you ever make this version? however i will say the main difference is that his version is a lot quicker. but if you're pressed for time just make hong shao rou instead (people can google it if they dont know what it is) it tastes very similar to the original dong po rou, its pretty quick, and its 10x more delicious than this recipe. i'm not saying what he made was bad, just very underwhelming and disappointing
