Well, I don't think one has to be conservative to vote for Trump, or see what damage the lefties are doing in the West. Many libs refuse to see it. A lot of them really do have what is called "TDS". I have examples of it. I have always considered myself independent, lib, or centrist, depending on the issues...These days if one veers anywhere "right of center" or left, there are plenty of people who automatically label one "right wing", or make the oh, so typical quip..."You should stop watching Fox News." I have had that stated to me on occasion, and I rarely watch Fox News. It's a condescension of course. It's a common reflex in these parts of the U.S.

I believe the core reason that intelligent conversation is so desirable for us younger folks is that we don't get a proper education. For example, I never learned about Marxism in high school. @@paulkern7229You should think about some of the things Niall said, whom I believe has great clarity on Trump’s ability to use his ‘madman’ persona as an effective tool in geopolitical negotiations. I don't pretend to know what's going on in the corridors of the Chinese foreign office, but I'd bet a good deal of money there are people there jockeying to take credit for getting _an actual eunuch_ in such a high level position of the US military, whether they deserve that credit or not.
