What concerns me the most about gender affirming care is that we have zero idea what the long-term effects of such procedures will be because almost none of these procedures were done a mere decade ago. According to an article from John Hopkins from 2018, from 2000-2014, the National Institute of Science recorded a bit over 37,000 instances of "transsexualism or gender identity disorder"- about 2700 per year- and only >>11%<< of those instances resulted in "gender affirming surgery"- meaning 4000 over 14 years or about 350 per year. So we're basing decisions to irreversibly alter bodies, both chemically and surgically, with only 4000 cases happening long ago enough to give a history. We're experimenting on our youth.

I had unimaginable trouble convincing this lady who came into my word that I don’t speak my ethnic language. She insisted that she was interested in languages and wanted to try it out on my. Of course I couldn’t understand. I am mixed race and actually ethnically European as well which was ignored because of how I look. It’s slowly improving but we also have to accept that people who don’t look like your culture can become part of it and not constantly treat them differently. Especially if they are mixed and technically are part of your culture by birth. My mother tongue is English even though I don’t have white skin I am ethnically a mix of British ethnicities and Norwegian on one side.
