I love love this podcast, to start my day, after my Bible study, it always puts me in the right mindset. I got on Pinterest this morning and I see these pictures of a woman sitting with Jesus and I feel that so strongly that I have a warm embrace from the Lord. And I feel it, that we’re Gods little children, no matter how old we get. I needed to hear this today! I shared my Bible study, that didn’t necessarily think I needed one day, but a youth in my church needed to hear it. And it was exactly what she needed in that moment, that she opened up to me about. It was amazing! God is so good!

The part about serving others made me think of Jesus washing his disciples' feet. He didn't turn to them and said, "well, now that I've washed your feet, you can wash mine". Instead, he said: "Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you should also wash one another's feet" (John 13:14, NIV). Wash ONE ANOTHER'S feet. Jesus wants us to serve others around us in order to serve Him best! Praise God.

I have seen the Lord’s faithfullness in finances the past few months. I was led by him to give money to the church I go to a much higher amount than I have ever given and I got nervous. But He told me dont worry about the money. And He BLESSED US EVEN MORE ABUNDANTLY than the amount I gave. I was afraid, but learn from my doubt and see my example to NOT BE AFRAID. I think I really needed this. Sometimes I feel like I might complain way to much, and that negativity doesn't line up with serving God's kingdom cheerfully. I do try to encourage people as often as I find the opportunity. I really enjoyed the mention of 1 Thesalonians 5:11. Up until a year ago, I had this inward focus. I would use the commandments as a yardstick to judge other people, in order to make myself feel better. Last year I joined a non-denominational Bible study group. In the first session so attended, the Sabbath Day commandment was discussed. Growing up Catholic, attending church regularly, I thought I understood this commandment. But there was a crucial element about it I was missing: “ But the seventh day is a sabbath to the LORD your God; you shall not do any work-you, your son or your daughter, your male or female slave, your livestock, or the alien resident in your towns”(Exodus 20:9-10). When the class instructor asked me the deeper meaning, I was confused. I then learned that this commandment is supposed to be collective. The social context was that YAHWEH liberated the Israelites from the Egyptian Empire, with the power-hungry Pharaoh as ruler. God commands us to set up the social conditions that allow everyone to get the rest they need. Observance of the Sabbath day is not just for a person’s self! If you are still not convinced that the Sabbath Day commandment is a collective one, I would like to share a passage from the Gospel of Luke. Notably Jesus starts his public ministry of announcing the Kingdom of God on a Sabbath day. Jesus is at the synagogue and famously says: “ The Spirit of the LORD(Yahweh) is upon me, because he had anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of the sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, to proclaim the year of the LORD’s(Yahweh’s favor)”. Jesus then finishes off saying that the scripture has been fulfilled at the synagogue’s hearing. This passage is from 4:16-21. There is a great website called christianityoriginal.com with articles that expand on this. When the Kingdom of God arrives, this time of restoration is a cooperative endeavour.
