@@jpeoplesI do not agree with this, at all. Most of the artists I listen to at 15, I no longer listen to or rarely do. I believe your music taste solidifies closer to 20 than it does at 15. Either way, 50’s point stands. The music that’s bumping when you’re growing up is likely to be the “best” in your mind, but it’s all subjective.

Shiiit, ain't 14 to 15 years old when you start clubbing? Ain't that when you start fuckin up? I'm 42, started fuckin up around 12 ('91), partying at 15 ('94), my best years was 17 to 20 ('96 to '99) and I was completely done by 25 ('04). Well according to a Kiss song,"I wanna rock n roll all night. And party everyday." So, technically you can if you are rich or have unlimited resources. Or all of those plus you are young. Eventually you are old, broke, and eventually dead. As for being at a club at 1 PM, his songs are played at strip clubs. So, it could be a stripclub. I know I did that when I was young and had money.

I’d argue that Hip Hop is different than most other genres of music. 1. You can literally count how many syllables and rhymes rappers have in their rhyme schemes 2. Some rappers are objectively able to tell stories through their music (how good they are at this is somewhat subjective though) 3. You can count the amount of punchlines and wordplay (how good they are is also somewhat subjective). The quality of the music sonically (such as flow, delivery, beat selection etc) is subjective though and that’s where biases kicks in.

This is so true. You always value or want to place the artists from your era in higher regard than other artists, nostalgia is a helluva drug. I grew up on 90s NY boom bap and my biases show through when I construct a top 10 but I'm also aware of this.

That’s why I always hate when dudes justify their top five with record sales or number of charting hits. All the answers are subjective. I want to know who speaks to you. That’s the interesting question.

I also think it’s a different conversation when you’re discussing favourites vs greats Pac doesn’t make my top 10, maybe even 20 for favourites, but I’m gonna need to hear arguments for why he shouldn’t be top 3 if not THE *greatest* of all time Disclaimer: I prefer lyricists and pac never bent words or had an insane flow like say, big pun, big L, Nas, big and slick Rick (in my opinion) are better storytellers Snoop has better party anthems AZ is easier to listen to But as for greatness, that’s what you bring to the sport outside the ring Same reason Ali is the greatest but he is not the BEST boxer of all time

There hasn't been any artist since 50 at that level. It was remarkable. He was a watered down version of Michael Jackson. And nothing has compared since. Taylor swift and Beyonce are the next closest ones.

I agree, I remember when I first started clubbing & thinking "This is what I'm going to do forever!". About 3 years later, l saw the same people, doing the same things chasing the same types of women. It got old real quick, but at that period in my life. It was the time of my life!. But eventually we all grow up. Good memories though.🎉

@dastorm15 he trash imo. Doesn't write his own lyrics. Most of music isn't that good some of which he doesn't even live. He's definitely hot. But he's only like Kanye hot. My point still stands. There hasn't been an artist to do blow up like 50 or Em. Not in rap hiphop. Better sure. The only artists to be in that level have been Taylor swift and Beyonce. That's it. They're in a different stratosphere and when you look at the numbers you can't argue. The tweens across the world have serious buying power and give them influence.
