I know that it's not a new Space Hulk edition, but this Arks of Omen story arc would be a great reason for GW to put out a new Space Hulk edition that is updated for the Arks of Omen. One can only dream. ; )

Oh you're absolutely right! Arks of Omen and Boarding actions are PERFECT for Space Hulk, so I really have no idea why they didn't capitalize on that... 🤔 Maybe their timings got screwed up?

Am I more excited about new Tyranids or about new Space Hulk? To quote immortal Tony Stark: "Is it too much to ask for both?" :D The reflection in the terminator's eye? Yeah, it's a gaunt. The Tyranid in the first teaser looks like something big - maw is too wide and teeth too long for it to be a Warrior, Prime or even Carnifex. I might be getting out on the limb here but it seems to me like a new, plastic Hierodule. Providing it's not just some artistic license "generic, big tyranid monster".

Admittedly I jumped to space hulk when I saw it, but got to agree the lack of genestealer says otherwise. It would be great to get some new stuff and love like necrons had.

Agreed! And I'd love nothing better than a new version of Space Hulk, with ACTUAL 3d terrain, no less! Well, 8 say that, but I guess what I'd love more is a necron-style Tyranid range refresh!

Fair points one and all. They could update space hulk. To do anything with termies and 'nids they would have thought about space hulk no doubt. Perhaps they don't want people waiting for space hulk and to make sure we buy the 40k box, they are keeping it on the downlow with this red herring.

I think the space hulk is the red herring, and that GW thinks they can make people expect space hulk on the back or arks of Omen, then we'll be surprised when it's actually 10th. But at this point so many people are expecting tenth, the only switcherroo would be if it were ACTUALLY space Hulk

But Mr. Pink, what if it is a new Genestealer with armored plates? I doubt it and I believe it is just a teaser for 10th Nid/Marine box that I am hoping for as well as a nice range refresh. But we shall see.

Hey, you've got a point. Particularly when I'm initially like "Genestealers have NO HEAD CARAPACE"... only to show a pic of a genestealer with a head carapace!

I generally agree that it's probably not going to be Space Hulk, although I have doubts that it'll be a 10th edition box either as GW are pushing Primaris mostly now, so Firstborn Terminators are unlikely in a launch box/starter set(s). As for the Tyranid. We *are* long overdue for a redesign of Genestealers and the look in the video would fit in with the current range still.

Hrm. Ok. But the terminator refresh has been pretty heavily rumoured. So are you thinking what were seeing here are normal firstborn terminators thst they're going to repackage in some other box?

GW might as well just release new true-size/primaris terminators and give some in-universe bullshit reason for their existence. They are constantly adding new stuff into the universe where most of the old technology supposed to be forgotten and any innovation supposed to be suppressed :)

@@felis1977 Honestly, I'm expecting they'll just replace the terminator models and not give a reason. I also expect that Primaris will soon just become regular Astartes. I feel like the whole Primaris thing was just in case the community hated them or something. But they've clearly been embraced.

@@ModernSynthesist I never rely on chapter master click bait. Go with your gut. Where does the imperium not need a new war? What is more grim dark? They need mankind about to collapse before all the sons of the emperor are returned

@@gregshimmin5334 He may make a lot of click bait, but in light of the Terminator confirmation and more recent Dante incident, following a list of other things he's broken before anyone else, it's clear he has connections to someone who actually knows stuff happening behind the scenes at GW... But, it was actually an email from Games Workshop email that mentioned the Western Fringes. And GW just dropped a "1 week to go" image showing Segmentum Solar with a big purple mass to the Galactic West. Ultramarines are just involved because they are always everywhere... despite only being 1000 strong like other chapters. It's all just a branding thing they've decided upon to use Ultramarines as the example for new models.

Don't think this is Space Hulk. I still think its more likely to be a Killteam Box along the Ark's of Omen stuff. Kill Team could be getting rules for Elites. Tyranid Lictor and Ravener rules for Killteam along with Terminator rules for Killteam. Which fits into the boarding action stuff and would allow you to do Space Hulk type missions with Killteam. The lack of a Killteam Logo isn't enough for me to discount this possibility. It just fits better than the assumption of a Terminator vs Tyranid Starter Set for a new Edition of Warhammer.

@@ModernSynthesist Well, if Arks of Omen really brings back the Lion, and given them just recently pushing the Dark Mechanicum angle, i think we'll be seeing a Space Marines vs Chaos box. The new supplement seems to be called Vashtor (A demon) and be connected to the Soul Forge stuff. The Preorder for that just went up. We have the Siege of the Rock as ongoing narrative of the Arks of Omen. Angron seems to be involved with that. We lately been getting a lot of Khorne stuff and the Dark Mechanicum.. so i think we'll be seeing a mix of Berserkers and Dark Mechanicum. Now, mind you, i would like new Tyranids, but as you know, i do not believe the rumors for various reasons (previously discussed on WIP). And i just think it makes more sense if they keep pushing the Chaos Stuff with the Dark Mechanicum and the new Berserkers, rather than opening yet another "range refresh", while not really done with the Chaos Stuff and the Leagues of Voltann. And they also already have the models for the Berserkers and the like. IIRC the Necron in the 9th Edition box weren't new reveals for the 9th edition either.. but had been revealed prior. A plastic Lictor with a Kill Team Box and Elites expansion would make more sense, and could explain the stylized head from the Video.
