I thought the new inquisitor sculpt was a bit meh and he looked more like he was wearing a deep space mining suit or something!! The bird should have been position so it was perched on the metal thing and about to take flight, currently looks like it flew drunk into the beam!! Sorry to the sculptor just what i see!! Thanks to you guys i now know why its getting so much stick on social media lol!! Great CC again another enjoyable watch!!

I love the Malstrains and will grab them when i can afford to. Haven't got the new Purestrain kit but having started in 1st edition with the Genestealers from Space Hulk, Space Crusade and numerous boxed games i must have well over 100 purestrains of earlier types by now (i had 40 at the start of 2nd edition before adding plenty of the next sculpt from Battle of Macragge owards) but i'll get at least one box of them eventually as while i prefer the old subdermal head ridges to the new more Tyranid carapace plate ones the new sculpts are really nice. I particularly like that the Secondus lore actually predates the Necromunda game with Magos Hermiatus in that Space Crusade campaign in White Dwarf (an issue i missed back in the day) and followed on in a Space Hulk Campaign also from White Dwarf (that one i have) but reprinted in the Space Hulk Campaigns book with the Imperial Fists trying to purge the hive, all long before the original Necromunda game released. Back in the day when i played old Necromunda i played Spyrers because the GSC rules were very unbalanced, no-one i knew would even consider playing against them. While i like the new Spyrers it will be fun using the Malstrain instead and as i'm also a big Mechanicus fan the Hermiatus miniature is an absolute must-buy for me. As for the making Genstealers a form of Tyranid, while i resented that back in the day at first the Tyranids grew on me enough to get Advanced Space Crusade and start building an army.. which kept me goinf for the many long years without GSC so i'm fairly resigned to it now. That said i really liked the part in the Deathstorm Novella where *SPOILERS FOLLOW* * * * * * * * * * The Spawn of Cryptus Broodlord is a former Patriarch and is resisting the Hive Mind (though it won't be able to forever) and even controlling some Tyranid organisms in order to get it's personal vengeance! And the novella has a different ending to the account in the later Codexes as the Spawn survives at the end.

for the lictor genestealer I made for my killteam i used scything talons i plandered from cult metamorphs, they look more similar to the serrated or barbed talons the lictors have

A beautifully converted model and some very cool lore. I especially like the idea that, while by their nature Genecults have to operate in a largely autonomous manner away from the Hive Mind proper for extended periods of time as they infiltrate and infest worlds, the Hive Mind places failsafe contingencies into the Genestealer genetic makeup to account for any unacceptable level of deviancy from the Genecult's purpose in ultimately serving the interests of the Hive Mind and the Tyranid species. Not only does that help to deal with Patriarchs who become, for whatever environmental or other reason, overly wayward, but it also provides for a suitably nasty surprise for anyone who might take it into their head to try to bend the Genestealer Curse to their own ends. Try to rewrite a Genecult's genetics to make them biddable and useable as, say, disposable semi-alien shock troops for your wars, and sooner or later a Thin Man - or something like it - emerges from within the Cult, immune to any genetic tinkering prey species may have attempted, and driven by the gene-deep imperative to find and viciously eliminate those who would presume to remake the Hive Mind's creations into their own tools, while also breaking any genetic shackles that foolish prey may have attempted to place upon the Cult so that it may return to the Hive Mind's service. So have any number of would be masters been reminded, in the most terminal of ways, that they are prey, and that is all they will ever be.

I could just be looking in the wrong places but, I don't often see Tyranid conversions or kitbashes anywhere. Maybe because the Tyranids are very... fleshy which not a lot of other factions have? Either way, seeing some is very refreshing.
