I have been following your talks since the beginning. I wanted to say that these videos have been truly helpful for me on the Path. I'm _forever grateful_ to you Venerables! "Hard is it to be born a man; hard is the life of mortals. Hard is it to gain the opportunity of hearing the Sublime Truth, and hard to encounter the arising of the Buddhas."

This talk is really good. I would like hear this talk again but said in a different way. Or elaborated over again. It's like I get it ,but then I'm speechless and puzzled. Being puzzled maybe the same as being curious . I think I can get it???You do bring clarity and stress precision in seeing. I wonder if I'm making sense to you? What would be the your best suggestion for reading? Where should it start. I have been listening to you about 5 months

@Leo kerr - I'd recommend you begin a systematic reading of the Suttas. Also, you can download a copy of Dhamma Within Reach which will shed more light on these talks as well www.hillsidehermitage.org/new-book/

"If, monks, a monk were to say: 'Face to face I have heard from the Blessed One, receiving face to face: 'This is the teaching, this is the discipline, this is the order of the Master.' ' This what the monk said, monks, should neither be approved nor rejected. Unapproved and unrejected, one should remember those words and their meaning and compare them with the suttas, compare them with the Vinaya. If they are contrasted with the suttas, with that Vinaya are compared and they do not agree with the suttas, do not resemble the Vinaya, one should draw the following conclusion: Verily, this is not what the Blessed One said, this monk received it badly. That, monks, you should throw away from yourselves .-If they are contrasted with the suttas, compared with the Vinaya and they agree with the suttas, resemble the Vinaya, one should ...........
