Love the respect between these two coaches and the fan bases. Even as a Dawg’s fan I’ve always loved watching Alabama football and enjoy the fans energy. Having no pro sports teams this Crimson Tide means a lot to those fans and they support them full force every year no matter what. People focus on their success now but there were some tough times for Bama but their fans always stuck with them. Hoping for a great game and a Dawgs win. Either way glad the title is coming to SEC country

is Nick Saban psych or what? @2:50, He already had his backup plan with Tua Tagovailoa because Kirby knew his offensive weakness in the first half. He went from Plan a to Plan B. Guy is a genius. And that's coming from a "U" fan.

Nick Saban basically verifying he is coaching for 5-6 more years -- best thing I've heard re: Football all year :) We've all suspected it.. but we didn't know if it was 2 years, 3 years.. or what.. 5-6 feels about right and essentially gives ~6 more recruiting cycles a shot. I know Nick Saban will coach as long as he CAN.. so if he stays physically and mentally ABLE to maintain this after 5-6 years.. he'll continue until he's 85 if his health allows. He's stated the only thing that will dictate WHEN he retires is NOT being able to maintain the 'standard' on a consistent basis. IN other words once he starts to lose 4-5 games a year for more than one flukey year.. he will hang it up/retire.
@jasonstewart55537 жыл бұрын
GuessTechSports or when he starts losing these big games. Which is starting to happen more and more. Also, beating him on signing day is where it starts also. Which Kirby understands and u seen it this year. Get used to seeing UGA for a while.
@GuessTechSports7 жыл бұрын
More and more? He lost one NC game in the last second on a Pick play... against Deshaun Watson who played transcendental (which was backed up with his NFL play). The next year he annihilates Dabo and Clemson with a better defense than the previous years and being the underdog. So he has Clemson 2-1 .. And he lost in year 1 semi's by 1 TD to Ohio State.. now going into year 4 NC against Georgia. I guarantee you Saban isn't leaving coaching by getting to the "superbowl" and not winning lol.. In fact this is the best coaching work Nick Saban has done in his career. When you have this level of injuries that basically decimates your defense at LB to nothing and you STILL pull your team through to 11-1 , then blow out Clemson in Playoff .. you have to look at coaching. Is Georgia going to be around a while? All signs point to that. Georgia wasn't gone though. Georgia was an average 10 win program before Kirby got to take over the program in the BEST shape anyone likely had taken over. So Kirby was able to hit the ground running and gain results without having to completely rebuild Georgia and wait Several recruiting cycles before he had a team good enough to make it this far. This wasn't given to him,.. he's brought Georgia those extra 1-2 games that Richt couldn't and I'm glad things worked out this way this year. However, normally it's going to be Alabama playing Kirby/GA in the SEC Championship and whomever wins that goes on. I hate all the Saban vs Kirby comparisons -- Kirby has at least 5 years from now to equal roughly what Saban has done .. and in that Span Kirby has to win a NC every single year. Possible? Sure.. Kirby has what appears to be #1 recruiting class this year -- That's amazing.. Alabama has the #1 recruiting class for the last 7 (All that matters is the last 4-5 obviously) .. but how is Georgia able to match up in NC with Bama this year if Alabama has had #1 class every year? Because a school with the #5 class vs a school with #1 class isn't that far apart .. if any. 4 stars often become 5 stars.. 3 stars become 4 ... 5 stars don't pan out and end up on the bench or just having mediocre careers and so on. Then we have coaches who develop talent better than the others.. Saban is among those -- I think Kirby is in that category as well .. we shall see. The Bama / GA fanbases are already at each others necks.. I think this will work out well lol

Is this a Saban bot? Why would he have gone back? Seems like he made the right choice to me. They worked well together, sure, but they work well on their own. Kirby was the right choice for UGA, and left at a time that didn't really damage Alabama. If Saban is the GOAT he and all fans claim he is, there is no reason to ask Kirby to return.
