I’m surprised you didn’t notice the corpse was simons at the start. Look at the glasses and his design. Each name of the episode references something about a character in it with the star being marceline like how the other vampires had names like the moon.

I'm still not over baby Finn reaching for the dagger at Simon's throat. It's funny because of course Finn is interested in weapons, but I think the macabre image of a baby inches away from a sharp blade adds to the suspense of that shot.

In case nobody's said it; the Vampire King is meant to represent the Wheel of Fortune tarot. The multiple animals put together, his talk of cycles back in the Stakes miniseries. He's the Wheel, no wonder he's the King. Also I love the gays.

Fionna is finally realising just how terrifying being an adventurer, in the vein of Finn, is. Like constant mortal peril is sinking in and she is panicking. Not helped by the fact that her fantasy persona and her are physically very different, she lacks both the skill and physical fitness of her former self.

Martin is an interesting case, it's likely this is what his personailty would have been like... before the brain damage in the main series. We see through title cards how after he saved Finn when he was a baby, he bonked his head real bad and lost all memories, taken in by pirates. It's interesting when you look at real cases where people lose empathy after head injuries.

I don't think Martin "lost his empathy" in the main series. He was already a criminal before he met Minerva so when he got brain damage and mostly forgot about his life on founder's island, he started doing the only stuff he knows how to do: Sneak, scam, and smooth talk, which he was encouraged to do more since he got taken in by PIRATES. When he meets Finn, he ditches him as soon as he gets healed because he's in the middle of escaping prison, and Finn is just some dude that may or may not be related to him that helped him to do it. It's no being heartless, at least not in any meaningful way.

I dont think ive seen anyone mention this, but no Marcy cant turn Bubblegum. Theres an episode in Adventure Time where Finn, Jake, And Marcy get stuck in the sand city and Marcy tries to eat jake. PB showed up at the end to rescue them and Marcy sucks her essence out. So basically she can just drain her of her color but nothing else really and PB can regenerate eventually or probably has a machine to reinvigorate her.

tbf I don't think it's been said whether or not her sucking the blood/essence or whatever will automatically turn someone into a vampire but I doubt she could turn PB simply because she's not even human just sentient candy.

P sure cosmic owls crime relates to making dreams that were never meant to be prophetic into prophecies, which is why he’s in trouble for “propheteering”, not just doing his job but doing his job in a way that is actively destructive or opposed to the greater needs of reality

@@SputnikSpyglass I think people forget that our universe Martin was a good father at least at one point. His past ended up catching up with him and was put in a bad situation where he had to protect Finn at the cost of his own life. He survived but with head trauma and also realizing that he lost his home and family so he kept moving on regressing to his old self to the point when he’s reunited with his son he’s buried his past so deep that he hardly even remembers him or his old life
