Like some of the great indie games that have come out are fantastic and some AAA here and there have also been great. If you specifically wanna scratch that nintendo game itch just emulate. You can play all the switch games you want on PC and not give greedy corperate nintendo a single dime. I boycotted them awhile ago when I dropped the switch out of my mind. Wanna play a better running version of their switch games do it on PC. Wanna play their past games they don't want you to play or can buy anymore since they shut down their stores emulate it better than their switch online. Don't regret making a better and cost effective choice. You have a way to play the games if you have a PC to do so.

Blows my mind none of you don’t see this, it’s a masterwork from PlayStation. In pairing up with Lego which they already have. (There is a HZD tallneck Lego set out already) and now more to come I’m sure. Basically this Game is a Trojan Horse or gateway drug. They release Lego HFW on Switch, for when kids age out of Nintendo and start looking for a more mature system like an Xbox or PS, They will see or know that the original is on PS or PC, and may gently nudge them in that direction rather than say a Xbox. Especially with most or some Xbox exclusives coming to PS5 anyway. It makes it “the best place to play” And that’s why you’re not seeing Lego HZD release on Xbox btw, lol Masterstroke!

The Wii U was just after the Wii and DS and the 3DS was still a great success. So the failure of the Wii U wasn't as bad as people think. Even though the Switch isn't the most powerful console, the Switch has completely changed handheld gaming forever

I'm not saying the PSP is a bad handheld, but it doesn't even come close to how amazing the Switch is. Scary part is you now have games that will start development at the beginning of one generation cycle and come out in the middle of the next one. Due to weaker hardware, the Switch as an example is capable of doing two per generation, though admittedly it only had one mainline Mario game (if you only count 3D). And the reason Zelda had two games was in part due to the second one being intended to be DLC for the first. Then you have Metroid Prime 4's development, which restarted in 2019 and still hasn't been released, despite evidence showing it's been in test phase for more than a year. AAA games should take roughly 4 to 5 years to maintain profit. I am guessing that is one of the reasons modern warfare keeps up its sales, having three games being developed at the same time in 3 to 4 year windows. (Released almost annually).

@@zackwarrington7272 well they are making billion dollar projects, billion dollar grossing projects such as the Super Mario Bros Movie... and get this.. the Super Mario Bros movie had a budget of just 100 mil.. it goes on to gross 1.3 billion just at the box office alone yet some of this AAA garbage cost upwards to 100-200 million more than a damn state of the art animated film! That is crazy. Plus Nntendo's first party game budgets aren't thru the roof... they're doing it smart.. nothing but pure profit!

Oh man, it should be clear to everyone that, among other things, Sony wants to open up to new customers and markets through the Lego & Horizon cooperation with the brand, and I think they would like to attract new customers in the future to their main Horizon games that are already available and those that will be released in the future. It's clear to everyone that a Lego game, no matter what brand, is never a main game of that particular series. i hope this lego horizonns game is going to be a succes for sony, if so, we will maybe going to see other lego sony games, like sly cooper, ratchet & clank, jak & daxter, god of war... or maybe something like "world of playstation allstars the lego game" 😄

Side scrolling Metroids, Double Dragon, Contra coming back with classic gameplay coupled with modern graphics all while they stayed true to couch co op and multiplayer? God bless them.

This reminds me of that time when a developer studio of a couple of Marvel games presented Nintendo with a demo where Link and Samus were playable characters. Nintendo seemed very happy with what was presented... until they found out that the demo was running on the PS2 and not the GameCube and they killed that idea immediately and without mercy.

He’s not wrong though. When I’m at home in the living room with the big screen, surround sound, on the comfy couch, I play the Xbox. That’s honestly pretty rare though. When I’m at work, when I’m in the latrine, when I’m in bed, when my woman wants to play coop, when my kids want to play coop, or when I want to play while watching boglim chronicles, the Nintendo Switch is my go to. That’s like 80% Switch, 15% Xbox, and 5% 3ds(still clearing that backlog). I love and value all systems the same, but time is finite.

But really, it's the things that they create that got so many people up in arms regarding their favorite company. I get that people are diehard sports fans and root for whatever team they're on, the difference with consoles is the games or services they put out are amazing marvels of tech and art. I've been thinking back to how consoles used to be entirey exclusives. It takes more than a couple of games to force people to buy a console. There's way too many options these days. The backlog is real. Nintendo has been wise to maintain a good library of exlucisve properties, but they also manufactured a system with additional benefits. The PS5 is so ridiculously expensive for a machine that can't even play AAA games at 60FPS that people are just better off buying a PC. The Switch may not have the power, but graphics don't matter nearly as much as quality, afforadability, and portability.

However, they lost with N64, GameCube and the WiiU. You can't excuse the N64 since they were all in the same boat. Not only that Nintendo had more experience than Sony in the gaming market and lost. You can't really claim that Nintendo won all of the war. Nobody wants to play God of war on the switch running at 480i 30 fps. Lmao and Nintendo has plenty of neck beards as fans. I’ve been looking at my switch games collection. I have tons of games but the best ones are also available on the WiiU. Now Mario odyssey is a must own and I’d say Luigi’s mansion too but the rest I just don’t know. So many remasters etc third and first party. I’ve never bought so many controllers for a system before trying to find something better than what came with the system 🤷🏻‍♂️ I do love the switch but it could definitely be better.

When you look at all the generational upgrades, Nintendo to Super Nintendo PS1-PS2-PS3, there were such huge leaps in graphical technology, but this current generation didn’t really make such a noticeable leap. It’s like they can only improve so much and now they’ve hit a wall. Game companies aren’t helping themselves, wasting money on having famous Hollywood actors voice characters when it doesn’t really make for a better game. Was the last Alone in the Dark really better because of David Harbor or could they have saved some money and used it to keep the characters from getting stuck against the wall (happens a lot)?
