Conscious of the increase of stress-related illnesses seen in an array of cultures across the world in recent years, the University of Leeds commissioned a study to explore the physiological and psychological impact that exposure to cute animals - including the quokka - can have on individuals. Researchers chose to include the quokka as it has been named as the ‘world’s happiest animal’.
The study found that consuming content of quokkas - a cute mini marsupial found on Rottnest Island in Western Australia’s capital of Perth - had a significant and immediate positive impact on participants.
The study results are a fantastic reminder that we benefit massively from exploring and enjoying the natural world. We hope to welcome UK visitors to Western Australia soon, in the meantime we hope Quokka TV provides a welcome mood boost. Visit www.firststopsingapore.com/en/quokkatv
