I work at the plant that builds the new Lyriq and it's hideous. We also build the EV parts for the Acura ZDX (they both use the same batteries) and it looks WAY better. I'd take the ZDX over the Lyriq any day.

You cannot apply standard depreciation to ultra luxury vehicles. The production numbers are very limited and the only potential buyers are the ultra-rich who do not experience nor care about depreciation. These will appreciate in value solely from exclusivity forget about the obsolete tech.

Cadillac had a hard time selling $100k XLR-V's less than 15 years ago. This is going to be a flop. Like $180k would be the end of the world pricing for this. Which is $30 more than a fully loaded Escalade -V. Some folks in marketing and research will be unemployed over this pricing decision.

The only Achilles' Heel to this car is a blackout or an EMP. Also, what if you forgot to charge the car the night prior and you're in an emergency? Like any plug-in hybrid or EV?
