SO HELPFUL!! Thank you for this perfectly timed video and your other detailed and informative videos. We’ll be at your store tomorrow to get our very first setups for our 6 year old girl who’s been randomly begging to go salmon fishing, after she got “hooked” watching the Outdoor Boys family on KZbin. We were already planning to make the short drive from Cortland, NY to Pulaski today or tomorrow, but now that we’ve heard this report we’re grateful for how fortunate our random timing is. A week ago we didn’t even realize there was a fall salmon run so close by. I randomly googled salmon fishing in New York for our daughter after vaguely recalling seeing people salmon fishing in a river in CNY over 20 years ago. What luck we’re having this week with timing. Maybe our 3 year old boy and 6 year old girl will have some great memories made as their parents attempt to catch huge fish with zero salmon fishing experience. We grew up cane pole fishing in southeast Georgia, so this will be a new style for us. Y’all keep having fun. Sorry in advance for our lack of river etiquette! 😂 🎣 😬👧🏻🧒🏼💚

I love that! Everyone starts out with no experience and I’m so happy your daughter is excited about salmon fishing. We were all beginners once and it’s the passion for it that makes the difference.

There will still be some salmon most likely but they won’t be fresh. But you’ll probably be catching the steelhead and brown trout too! They run later than the salmon

Absolutely. They’re in here thick right now and will continue for a couple weeks at least. Then after the salmon the steelhead and brown trout start running too.
