Let me first of all welcome pops to the You tube family but getting back to what you guys were discussing about Guyana being the bread-basket for the Caribbean, I don’t know if you heard the news as yet but both Guyana’s government and Barbados’ government are collaborating, not only in tourism ventures but also in agriculture. It was announced recently that a warehouse will be set up in Barbados to house produce from Guyana for distribution to Barbados and the other Caribbean islands; most likely those north of Tobago. Barbados is going to be the hub for Guyanese agricultural distribution. So apparently someone else has heard pop’s suggestion.

ARD Guyana was not the bread basket of the Carribean under Burnham. Under Burnham there was no flour. The contract for the road before Maraj said anything about it. You should do some fact checking.

That's true 1975 -1980 was very tough under the Burnham regime. My parents shuttered their business and immigrated to the Usa. I missed Guyana though and my diverse friends in Georgetown

AND NOW HE ASKING DENNY TO HELP HIM IN OLD AGE SO TELL ME SINGH,, IF HE IS SO KNOWLEDGEABLE WHY HE DID NOT STAY IN TRINIDAD AND TEACH.. HA HA

Just because he has knowledge does not mean he was given the right opportunity to use it for the benefit of others. When you live in a developing nation it is not as easy to get past the red tape, there are nepotism and you also have the 1% benefiting from the government opportunities. Mr. Maraj might have been given the chance to be a farm worker on their agriculture business ventures and hardly ever in a managerial/supervisory position. Going to the bank for a loan without collateral is depressing and they sometimes steal your ideas after you present your business plan and get turned down. Many factors could have been the reason for Mr. Maraj to migrate.
