The main reason i love her reactions (except for her character lul) is that she started with og dragonball and watches in japanese. I like the english dub but it butchers the characters so fucking much. This is literally the only real way to watch dragonball. From the beginning (like every other damn fucking show) and in og sub (like most other anime aswell). I would go even so far as to say that most american fans arent real fans because they dont really like the original version but it is so much better than the butchered version most american fetishice so much

I did the same but reading the manga, but what blew my mind was when Raditz showed up. Like imagine experiencing this for the first time back in the day, Goku and piccolo are the strongest fighters in the world and this random alien dropping a huge bombshell saying he’s gokus brother and that he’s an alien, followed by a fight where both goku and piccolo are completely outmatched and the way they beat Raditz led to gokus death and after that!!!!! We find out that 2 more saiyans are coming WAY stronger than Raditz and they don’t know that they can take them on. Seriously this whole arc is fuckin bonkers coming right after dragon ball seriously

The only time the English dub got the 8000 right was in DBZ Kai, and that’s only on the Uncut DVDs and Blu Rays. They still said 9000 on TV just to appeal to fans. 😅

A brief bit of English dub history: the first English dub for DBZ was the Ocean dub, which was still produced by Funimation in the mid 90's, just outsourced the script and dubbing to Ocean Studios in Vancouver. After about 2 seasons (54 episodes) Funimation quit dubbing the series until it became popular once it landed on the Toonami programming block in the US. Once more was demanded, Funimation saw it was to expensive to keep flying out to Canada, so they decide to dub everything else in-house, and hired local talent in Dallas, Texas to continue on. There in-house actors eventually became the most well known cast that English dub fans recognize over 25 years later. After completing DBZ, they redubbed the early Saiyan/Namek sagas with the Texas cast in 2005, and redubbed the series again with DBZ Kai in 2010, however with several recast characters, and much more faithful scripts to the original Japanese dialogue. Hence why there are many different English dub versions of the same scenes, mostly by the same company over the years 😂. It can get confusing for viewers, and even other reactors, who don't know which version of the dub to watch.

I don't know of any other series that transitioned a character from childhood to adulthood quite as well as Dragon Ball. Iconic moments of Goku as a child and even more as a grown adult and father. And Over 9000 in the original English dub is always etched in my mind.

A few german dub facts if you are interested. They changed the german Voice for vegeta after this arc, cause Fans were not happy with it. And Thank god they changed it. The Spongebob Voice did an great job, but it wasnt fitting. The second Voice (Oliver Siebeck) was perfect and is my favorite Vegeta voice. The german Voice for Goku (Tommy Morgenstern) is a legend in Germany. He is probably the most beloved Voice in our country thanks to DBZ. Piccolos german Voice is also very beloved. His name is David Nathan. He is the german Voice for Johnny Depp and he made a lot of Audiobooks, especially from Stephen King. Oh and he is batman in the Nolan Trilogy and the Arkham games. I could never thank you enough for having chose the original dub and not the american version of DBZ ! It's like EVERYY english react of DB / DBZ I see on YT has to be with american dub... And then SHE appears, Kayla who not only does the right move and watch the show from the START, with little Gokû, like a sober person would do, but also wants to see it in the original japanese version ! Episode 28 has always been one of my favourites, not only with the death of Piccolo and Kami-sama, the grand return of Goku and then his one sided beat down on Nappa which is so satisfying to see after Nappa had been so dominant for what feels like so long and for their fight to be capped off with a preview of Goku's new technique, the Kaio-ken, was great. This is spread over 28 and 29, but I love how Goku dedicates a hit to each of the dead. Just on the over 9,000 thing, it's a long story but this meme ended up on Oprah of all places, "He does not forgive, he does not forget. His group has over 9,000 penises and they are all raping children."

Please continue what you doing and don't worry. DBZ isn't that bad and even have some down side heartbreaking situations on the end the good will always win. Someway somehow you gonna see happy endings of every story as well .Everything it's gonna be alright. 😊❤it has to be happy ending like in any other anime 😅

I think the first time I saw this it was in Ocean dub, but I only watched like the first 40-50 or so episodes until I learned Ocean dub did not translate the whole show, so then I switched to Funimation dub. I'd say Funimation is better, I mean I like most characters in Funimation, and I like both Vegetas but sometimes I wish they kept the Ocean Vegeta's over the top acting.

I've had a garbo dub of a pretty low quality French dub, so I'm impartial and I can't do with English dubs, especially the old ones from like first time it aired.
