regarding hotel's I'm staying wherever I'm most comfortable and you can't beat what most large chains have to offer. plus from what I understand Airbnb's are not that cheap for a one-night stay so unless you're going to spend more than 3 days at one, what's the point. props to our girl for making the trek as far as she did, she should definitely be proud!

But hotels are just way more convenient for a 1 night thing Edit at the end, loved the mini series AND NO SHAME for listening to your body and go as far as ya could. What an awesome series and trip. It's too bad she didn't get to finish all the way on the bike but shows a very important learning message to all of us that sometimes a person needs to recognize their limits and know when to make the hard decision especially when it comes to health. Better to be safe than something bad happen. Keep riding and ride safe.

Totally agree. Air BnB is good if you are sticking to a place for a few days. You can set up meals and drinks and have some space to move around. But if I am rolling through town, a hotel or motel is just more convenient. I can roll up whenever, make last minute reservations and be out in the morning without having to deal with doing chores first.

Great series of videos. Amanda has absolutely nothing to be ashamed of not making it the full trip. Health and safety should always be #1 priority and, in my opinion, she shown others what to do when you are not mentally or physically able to continue. I would love to actually get her to give a full review/report on the Heritage as that is the bike I’m looking at. Not going cross country but definitely weekend trips or Florida vacations. Again I fully enjoyed the series and really do enjoy the channel.

I'm U.K. based and usually (before Covid) went into europe to rallies etc on my HD, because I use Holiday Inn/Express's when I stay away for work, I can usually do at least one 10 day trip around europe with free hotel rooms using the points I earn... REAL money saver... (I ride a BMW now due to extortionate cost of HD's over here, and the fact a lot of spares & paint over here are made/painted in China now, but due to go to Europe in July, again with mostly free hotel rooms at Holiday inn) Great content guy's👍👍

So, history nerd moment, Block: That engine you wanted to do the “swap” with in Mobile? Not sure if they had a sign for it, but that’s the J58 off the SR-71 Blackbird. Ground crews had to use a pair of 401 Buick V8s to spin it up to 3200 rpm’s, just to get the engine to turn over without stalling. 😎

If you're doing a holiday in one spot with a group, AirBnB is still good. Me and some mates rented this massive house a while back and spent a week hanging out in our communal spaces, cooking in our kitchen, all that good stuff. That's an experience you can't get in hotels, unless you go somewhere with like holiday villas or something (not really the norm here in the UK). But for what you guys are doing, single night stopovers, yeah screw all that nonsense, hotels all the way. Check in, check out, worry about nothing else.

that's a lucky bucee right there! Agree with you on the hotel vs AirB for quick night stays and moving thru areas. Much easier to just get a hotel, grab breakfast and roll out. We do get an airB when we spend multiple days riding around in one area though depending on the area.Destin is a great area too. Spent about a week there. Wasn't riding unfortunately...

Hotel all the way. I take at least one touring trip a year, I live in Dothan Alabama and every summer I go to Eureka Springs, Arkansas. But I've also taken trips to New Jersey (Highlands area), East Texas (Nacadoches), West Texas (Alpine) and even did an Iron Butt SS1K before. I've been on lots of trips and everything you said about hotels, hands down the best. First, costs way less than most Air BNB just on the face of it (usually $50-70 for a night in a regular double queen room at the chains), and that's even before you factor in rewards points toward free stays if you're in a particular brand's program. Hotel is almost always easy to find too, and way easier and more convenient if you're only there just for the night or just for 2-3 days. I can't think of a single good reason to pick an Air BNB over a hotel unless you're getting like 5 or 6 people in the one Air BNB and you're going to be there at least 3 days and it's some swanky destination and the Air BNB reflects that. Air BNB has gone way downhill since the early days where people put their comfortable home up for rent when they'd be gone, now it's all cheap properties bought as investment with crap furniture and a bunch of unnecessary extra headaches, like in some places hidden keys and trying to get in is like trying to find an FBI/CIA Black Site.

Hats off to the young lady on the heritage.. Not the best bike for the task but she kept going despite her health condition. She's a real live super hero. I suffer from a heart malady myself and know it's impact on everyday life. It certainly changed my approach to riding. Only other thing I'd highly suggest is that when planning a long distance trip that all riders are on the same page. Apparently one group member took off when she may have been sorely needed. Just saying. It's about the group. Pick wisely.
