Brother, I credit Jesus for me coming across your video. I've been praying for understanding of salvation and here I am. I have struggled in frustration, anger, confusion, and misery under a false understanding of salvation, looking unto myself for performance and obedience. I read the Bible almost every day and it had gotten to the point to where I didn't even want to read as it just further frustrated me. I listen to many pastors, sermons, messages, etc and have never felt so completely spiritually assured that a message was biblically accurate as to how I've felt watching your videos. To the point, makes complete sense, scripture-backed; you sound like an apostle. Thank you so so much, brother. God bless you richly.

It seems to me that in Ephesians 2:8-9 the point that salvation not being by works so BOASTING can’t be used is also applicable to AFTER salvation as well so people can’t have “ contest” of sorts comparing their lists with each other to therefore claim proof that one is saved or that another is not. That’s just repackaged boasting and again places the emphasis on “I “ not Jesus. The ultimate obedience that is required for salvation was done by Christ when he obeyed the Father when he willingly laid down his life for us. Anytime the pronoun I is used more than the pronoun Him , I’d start questioning a works based salvation mindset. The concept of using obedience and how we handle a trial is not how we gain assurance that we’ve been saved. Our reactions, feelings are so untrustworthy especially based on the nature of our circumstances. It’s because He promised that we would be if we put our faith in him. Love these segments defending the gospel. They’re concise yet chock full of biblical truths.

Tue thing about MacArthurs teachings is that they encourage a sense of false security and a false faith/hope of salvation. I used to listen to him all the time and i would feel anxiety because he made me feel like i wasnt doing enough to "prove" my salvation. He would say "salvation is by faith alone, but if its saving faith, there will be works." And so i felt like because i didnt have enough "works" it meant i wasnt truly saved. So then o would go on and go out of my way to do works to "prove" i had saving faith. But the works were worldly because i wasnt doing them out of love. I was doing them expressley to "prove" i had "saving faith".

There's nothing there about the eunuch feeling badly but that he he a new intellectual understanding and belief that Jesus is the Messiah and he trusted in that knowledge, asked to be baptised, and went straight back to his former life. Nothing about him being told to disciple himself (follow Jesus) or that he ever bothered doing so. Only that he believed and went on his way.

Gods sovereignty, man’s responsibility, Jesus is fully God, Jesus is fully man, Matthew wrote the book of Matthew, the Holy Spirit wrote the book of Matthew, Jesus must be your savior, Jesus must be your Lord. Leave the tensions alone, believe both. I used to have a little cardboard poster that said, “God said it, I believe it, that settles it.” Actually, when God says it, that settles it. The middle part of that statement, “I believe it” is a life long journey. I have been listening to John MacArthur for 34 years. There is no one, including John, that has perfect understanding. You are attacking Jesse and have not listened to enough of his videos to make the false claims about him. We are saved by the Gospel (1Cor 15:1-4) of Jesus’s death, burial, and resurrection. Jesus died the death we deserved to die. Jesus paid our penalty for sin. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Rom 6:23 When we place our faith in Christ's finished, redemptive work at the cross, His death, burial, and resurrection, we are saved. This is the message you will hear on Jesse's videos. I used to listen to J Mac and never heard him preach the saving Gospel. He will tell his followers that a person knows they are saved by recognizing their good works of being saved. At the moment of belief, we are saved eternally and irrevocably. 1 John 5:13; John 3:36. Works neither save you, keep you saved, or prove you are saved. Titus 3:5; Romans 4:5. You are a wretched sinner deserving of hell. Your works are filthy, disgusting rags to the Creator of more galaxies than grains of sand on every beach on earth. He does not need your help. @@timothywalters23 If you are born again then you obeyed the command to come to Him in faith (John 3:21). This locks obedience and faith together to the point now, if you are born again, the old command (to get born again) moves forward to a new command because the new light of the new birth now shines (because you got born again). This right here debunks osas. Are you born again? If so, then you are now IN the true light YOU CAME TO at the new birth (by DOING truth) and the new command is walking in continued obedience started by first coming to the light (the only command a spiritually dead person can obey).
