I would avoid index funds, mutual funds, and specific stocks for the time being. Right now, the best option is a fixed income of five percent. Put money aside for the times when the market really starts to bounce back.

I would say 12 years of low interest rates. Rates didn't firmly go below 6% until 2002. When I bought my first home in 95 the rates were in the mid 8's.

Or this administration could stop printing billions of dollars spending money they don't have devaluing our dollar. We could become an oil exporter again to lower the cost of energy across the board. Do these two simple things and it would have an immediate affect on inflation, much more than any monetary policy the FED would implement. It takes 12 months for target rate changes to have an affect the inflation number. The FED should be lower rates already, they have overcooked the rates to save face from when Powell said inflation was transitory. If the FED raised rates anymore it would cause a depression and you would see unemployment skyrocket. The BLS already cooks the books for the numbers they are reporting for jobs and unemployment. I agree the FED is spineless but for different reasons.

She may be correct but it would be very bad for the country. Inflation is not sticky its going back up. I would be counting more on a rate increase this year yet and another next year before we see a rate decrease. We have a lot of issue right now. The government spending is out of control and is our greatest risk of higher inflation and the cause of a banking crisis. Add to that the politcial climate and corrupt government and we are in for some real hard times.
