I am an American. One of my most favorite friends is Ukrainian. When I decided to learn a new language, she told me she would help me learn Russian, and then I found you. I enjoy your videos. Thank you! My friend, Inna has family still in Ukraine, and I am sad for them and for her. I feel sad for people on both sides. I wake up thinking of all of you, and I will keep you all in my thoughts. I feel helpless and hope this all ends very soon. With love ❤️, your American friend and family, Phyllis

My dear friend. I thank God for the blessing of having you for my friend and teacher. My wife and I share your same feelings and we know how hard it is. Thank you so much for sharing your heart with us all. We needed to hear this message so that we don't forget to feed that good Love wolf within us. We know that most Russians are pretty much just like we are. You simply want to live, to do what you love and make a living and be the best human person that we can. Certainly we fail many times but we must never give up and surrender to that dark side within us all. There is a wise saying that says that "Hatred is the poison that you take, hoping the other person will die from it." I'm not going to take it. Most Americans do not understand the Russian people, your history, and your culture. In fact, we don't even understand the Ukrainian people, their history, and their culture. Worse yet, most of us do not even understand our own people, our history, and our culture and all of that make for the madness that you speak of. I have sent out links to this video to all my family members and friends because it's a message that we ALL need to hear. We love you Kris and I personally have a deep respect and love for the Russian people. It breaks my heart that so much of what is going on is falling on you and the good people of Russia who have nothing to do with what is going on. Russia will become better than ever because there are so many good people...people with that light within them and who live in such a way that it shines brightly and illuminates us all. Да благословит вас Бог и оставайтесь сильными. Твой друг, Михаил

Thank you for your heartfelt video, I am a subscriber but not sure if I have commented before. So many innocent people have lost their lives, and millions of others are having their lives disrupted and torn apart. I really wish that peace will come quickly, but my fear is that it will get a lot worse before it gets better. These are sad, terrible times. May peace be with all of us soon and I hope it is possible for you to be back soon.

I'm a nerd Engineer who has worked all over the world and came to realize there are some really good people all over the world and some really evil people all over the world irregardless of ethnic background, religion, your genitals, or hair color. It follows the psychological archetypes - unfortunately meaning there will always be evil people and wars - I wish it was not this way but this is the way it is. I wish the upcoming generations were more aware of these behaviors and somehow identify and appropriately deal with the evil/greedy ones before they screw up things for the rest of us.

Kris, keep doing what you do. You are an excellent teacher and the work of teaching language and culture is important to bring people of all backgrounds together. Leaders are temporary and the hope is that when we venture down paths of questionable actions that we will be able to turn from it eventually. This is true of all countries. We have all done things that we are not proud of. But, there is an underlying culture of hundreds of years that make the Russian language and people interesting and worthwhile. It has been a long time since you taught me, but you should know that you made a positive impression on me, fueled my desire to learn about Russian and that it is important to have teachers like you. Keep bringing us together with your knowledge and ability.

Kris, it’s good to hear you. Longtime subscriber and as many of your country search for answers as many of us in the international community ask why and how, know that it’s the human spirit that connects us all. Regardless of religion, race, background. As Mark Twain famously quoted…. “You’re never wrong for doing the right thing”. I hope the good arises over evil and the international community bands together to do the right thing.

I have watched this video and wanted to say thank you for sharing your heart! I have Russian friends in Russia and I know there are many good people all over the world! This war deeply saddens me as well! Thank you for genuinely putting yourself out there! I am praying for this war to end and hearts to be turned to God! The love we have in our hearts comes from God’s heart. He is no respecter of persons! This is why He sent His one and only Son Christ Jesus. We are all His children and He loves us all the same. I totally agree with the love you speak about! I pray that through all of this, somehow people will learn to love each other even more! Across all nations! Blessings from USA Kris! 😉

Kris that was a very excellent and emotional video. I hope you, your family, and friends are staying happy and safe through all this craziness. My grandmother always tells me “There are plenty of awful people in this world, but I believe there are more good than bad. What you need to do is live life the way you want to and stick with those who support you.” This is a really crazy time and it’s sad seeing innocent people loosing their lives just because some hates or disagree with them. And your right. When you hurt someone your also hurting yourself because sometimes yelling at people is not the answer. You want to remain kind. Just because somebody is mean or nasty doesn’t mean you should give up being nice. Stand with Ukraine 🇺🇦💙💛

These are fine words well expressed. It is good to hear about your feelings and yes, love, wanting the best for all our family is what we should strive for.. But when one member of a family wants to destroy another and smashes and takes their home, strong words and actions are surely necessary? If we say I do love you despite what you are doing we are not exhibiting love but acquiescing in a violence that destroys love and will destroy all that it means to be truely human. Anger is right and proper,Our anger springs not from hatred,or disagreement with a different opinion but from outrage that another human being can act to annihilate another without any love. We would not exhibit love if we did not oppose such action as strongly as we are able? I like your channel very much and I can see what a lovely loving Russian person you are. It is all so difficult! And very sad.So pleased you have posted this we all need to listen and try to understand each other.

It's all so sad. In history class it was difficult as a child to understand how it could all happen. Yet as I made it to high school and as a adult it became clear. Here many hope for war because it is good for their business and they want someone to kill legally.

Kris! The goodness and gentelness of Your heart is spreading in Your podcasts and specially in this one! I want to note aswell about that West propagand, to explain the thing about why West says that russians don't care. In a very simple words- this what russians do is just not enough. And this that there are a lot of russians who support Putins actions is at all tottally crazy. IT is about recognising the task which human/nation gain at the time - Ukrains needs to save their country, families, cuz they are attacked, countries in EU and the rest of the world has a to take care about refugees and support Ukrain fighters as much as it is possible (in the same time not escalating the massive conflict) Russians have a very difficoult task aswell- they have a dictator which makes a terror on them and specially to other countries. And every russian who dissagree with it has a moral duty to fight with it. To fight like Ukrains now fights, cuz in the name of Your nation Putin do the thing which he do. And Putin in his every speach says about all RUSSIA not about just a some part of Russia and russian People. So Putin do all this war in the name of Your country. He is a representator of Russia... And it is not enough just to be sorry about this situation and to say that nobody can even protest, cuz it is dangerous in Russia. Come on, look how dangerous now it is Ukrain, and Baltic countries are shaking from a fear aswell cuz they know they May be next ... Your govenrment made a horrible job in russian sociaty, it looks like People are so diveded, scared, not unite. However, being silent to all of this is aswell a bad work. I pray for a Revolution in Russia, for unity, being open-minded, brave to sacrifise with a huge love to Your own freedom which does not hurt the freedom of anyone else! Revolution is possible... And this is the only thing which can make this war stop in a days..

I will have to come back to watch the rest.. but I completely appreciate your point of view. Sorry I can't express all of this in Russian yet, so I'm writing in English and hope you will understand. Ruthless power always needed violence to get its way in history. Today it's largely an information war, with whoever the power leaders are trying so desperately to impress by lying their asses off, sometimes every time they open their mouths to speak. It has been said by many that these bankster class people the politicians are trying to obey and impress have assassin teams that hold their minions in line. They have built an incredible world on this basis, but take note of one thing - absolutely all of their institutions take aim at keeping the individual, especially boys and men, in a position of dependence and fear of authority. They know we are capable of living without them, so to keep us conformed to their hierarchy, they force us to play their game, by their rules and all of it is non-negotiable. So maybe you can misunderstand something on the world scale as hate, but fundamentally it's the structure that is the most offensive thing that we have. I'm not saying it should be destroyed, I'm just saying that we have better choices that we can make, and nobody has the guts to make those choices.

Thank you for this video. You know, one of the first Russian words I learned was "мир". And I honestly believe that all Russians want that.🙂 I originally wanted to learn Russian to understand Russian people better. Especially during crazy moments like this!!!🤪 So I will naturally continue to learn Russian, of course! The main question I had was "Why?". Not even 'how' but 'why'. I think I do understand enough Russian now to know why some people support this war (it's not just putin). So this has been a difficult two weeks for me personally (maybe see my most recent video). I believed the Russian government when they said the troops were going home on Sunday, no war, no invasion, etc. I guess I personally underestimated the effectiveness of Russian state propaganda.😕 I think for the Russians that are pro-putin, they see this as a pre-emptive strike to protect their nation from a future attack. Putin is always talking about "безопасность". I will also say that I do not 100% agree with all sanctions and full boycott of companies because it hurts ordinary Russian people (and then they will resent the West even more). Putin has always told people: "the goal of the West is sanctions". I think Russia has a big problem (with its media and how the government treats the opposition). Maybe it's not as united as people originally thought? It has division like other Western countries... Yes I see a lot of Russians who care, so I would never say all, only some. In fact I think you are very brave, to risk certain arrest/detention. Let's hope Russia doesn't go full "iron curtain"!😬 Also, yes, the West has its own propaganda too.😐

Most of the time we all get on. Having no borders will cause so much trouble, what language will I speak who will run things with no borders. I like being English and I love my culture. I like other cultures and that includes Russians and Ukrainians. Other cultures I don't like but it remains a personal thing. I have no desire to change people or do I want them to change me. I have never taken to people telling me how to live my life. One thing is you can't stop people being people. Even in a family they disagree. Some people don't take no for an answer. I am sorry to say Putin must go, but be careful who you end up in his place. There is no talking to some people in a family settings or in the wider world. The world was right to stop Hitler. Is Putin that bad maybe not, not yet anyway. In any case many Russians on You Tube have received a lot of abuse. This is not acceptable in any case what so ever! Remember we love you here. But the truth from a 58 year old man; who had parents who went through World War Two is this I would fight for Ukraine. It is not against you but Putin only understands violence. But I understand you and your freedom to say your view. I will still follow you. I hope I make sense to you.

Thank you Kris for your very heartfelt comments. i have luxury of living in a country where criticism of the government is a protected right. Every day I read articles deeply critical of our government and that is the sign of a healthy democracy. Unfortunately, when you live in a country where you can go to jail, or worse, for criticism of your government, you have a fundamental problem. This week I saw footage of babushkas in central St. Petersburgh being arrested on the street for carrying signs simply saying "No War". I know there are millions of Russians who believe that this war is insane and immoral, but fear the very real repression of a brutal regime that does not tolerate dissent. The public in Russia cannot freely read media for different points of view on the conflict.. I heard yesterday that the Duma in Moscow passed a law that citizens can be jailed for up to 15 years for disagreeing with their government! I never want to live in such a system and I suspect Ukrainians feel the same way I do. What is going on in Ukraine is not a "Special Military Operation" but an "Invasion" by a brutal aggressor that is killing thousand of innocent civilians, displacing millions and destroying a proud country that does not want to live under the occupation of this evil Russian regime.
