Pierce doesn't know how Lucifer's vulnerability works. All he knows is that Luci has been invulnerable for millennia, and as soon as there's a connection with Chloe, suddenly he's not. So he's hoping it will work the same for him, but he doesn't know which direction it goes.

While not being a fan of the love triangle, I do love this episode. Also pretty sure, Pierce thought Chloes love was the key for the mark to go away but is it really!? Love that Lucifer is obsessed with Bones!

My favorite part of this episode is Trixie holding the door for Lucifer. Its never mentioned, but she always has believed him to be the devil. But with a day job and doing grown up stuff. She might not know why Lucifer showed up, but she knows that as soon as he sees her mom, hes going to go after the person who made her cry.

How to answer your questions without spoilers... Bear in mind, that you know more than Peirce/Cain does. Why would you assume that he knows or even thinks that it is Lucy's feeling for Chloe that makes Lucy weak? From Cain's POV, limited again by what he actually knows and has seen, it makes sense to assume that there is something special about Chloe and her feelings for Lucifer that is the key. Beyond that, I can't answer without giving away spoilers. Looking forward to your next reaction!

I find Lucifer's melt down in the conference room with Chloe to be the single hardest scene to watch in the whole show. So powerful. So frustrating. Kudos to Tom!

@@butterw55 Lucifer doesn't like to be sad. He's sad for like a second, the next second he realizes he's sad, then gets loud angry. Best examples(so far) are in A priest walks into a bar. Great acting by Tom. If you pay attention you can see the sadness before he lashes out.

The important thing to remember whenever you're watching a show like this is that you as the viewer almost always have more information than the individual characters. With that being the case, you have to be careful when you ascribe your thoughts on a situation to another character because from their perspective they likely don't have access to the same information. Lucifer himself is a prime example of this as we, as the viewers, can clearly see his issues right at the beginning of the episode but it often takes Lucifer the entirety of said episode to come around to the truth of the matter if he ever does at all. This same line of logic applies to every character in the show and would also play into the motivations of the actors in their individual scenes.

Great reaction! I agree 100% there is no chemistry between Chloe and Pierce (while Lucifer is a chemistry lab all on his own). This episide hurts, and Lucifer breaking down (and then coming back again) is beautifully done.

Let me remind you that S3 ends in episode 24. Episodes 25 and 26 were bonus, they were shot to be part of S4, but Fox decided to cancel the show at the end of S3. So Fox aired these 2 episodes as part of S3, but they do not belong to this storyline.

I kind of liked Chloe getting a Love Interest - yes she cares for Lucifer, but every move or hint she has made in his direction has been shot down. Should she remain “chaste” while Lucifer has put her in the friend zone and is constantly hooking up with others (albeit mostly one-night stands) despite his obvious feelings for Chloe. Since Chloe has to be a responsible mother, she is going to unconsciously look on any involvement with a man as serious whether it is essentially rebound, real love, or not. And after a few years rewatching all Lucifer seasons in full or with reactors, and scanning fan comments, I know there is a bit of anger at the speed of Chloe’s and Pierce’s relationship development, but I think more time has passed between the last episode and this one than just a few days - maybe at least a few weeks, with the 1 week in this episode maybe making a month or more? Still fast, but not quite overnight. As for your questions without spoilers, I will only ask that you remember no-one really knows anything for sure, especially Lucifer, Amenadiel, Maze or Cain. They are all working on assumptions based on their perceptions of the past and what they themselves have observed.

I can agree that the Pierce and Chloe thing never really did it for me. They'd be setting it up the entire season with Chloe giving him looks and him keeping his distance from her until he decided to go the other way. Chemistry between the actors along with not the best setup in writing was likely the root cause of this feeling but my own head cannon of the situation is that Chloe, being essentially rejected by Lucifer as love interest, decided to seek out a compatible partner that was essentially the opposite of Lucifer.

There were some great moments in season 3, and there are some yet to come. But overall I'm glad that we're almost done with it. That whole Pierce storyline was rather grating. Has nothing to do with the actor, Tom Welling did as fine a job as Cain as anyone could have wished, but still ...

Again these writers are masters of misdirection. There are several seemingly unrelated threads here, which will shortly converge into a massive, coherent story resolution. So just watch and relax at trying to figure it out as the threads will tie together in a larger tapestry.

I've never been quite satisfied with the execution of this season, as you pointed out there's a lot of bits that fit weirdly and could have been worked on a bit more. But I do like the overall journeys of each of the characters. Character progression is probably the greatest narrative strength of the Lucifer show as a whole and this season has several gems. This isn't the only season with some doubtful storylines, but the authors always managed to convey how the characters are affected and they have pretty clear directions for where they want to get them with each arc which is why I think Lucifer is one of the better shows out there as a whole.

This show kinda stopped being about the case after Season 1 or 2, now it's more a celestial action drama about the psykology of Lucfier and his relations to the other character. Now the case is mostly about being a paralell to Lucifers life atm :P

Hello Anna, I would like to help you understand the situation with Cain. I'll try to do this without giving any spoilers. Abel was a bad person. But Cain was much more worse. Cain/Lt. Pierce became the sinnerman, a brutal and cruel crime boss. When he got knowledge that the devil has come to earth, he gathered info on Lucifer to see if he can help him to get rid of his mark. Lucifer made a deal with Cain. But when Lucifer realized that this puts Chloe in danger he revoked the deal. Cain was very angry about that and wanted revenge on Lucifer. Because he cant harm Lucifer directly, he decided to harm the one thing Lucifer loves the most: Chloe. Cain did manipulate Chloe to fall in love with her. He wanted to reveal this fact to her so that she feels a lot of pain. Then also Lucifer would feel a lot of pain. But when it was time to do so, he couldnt do it. Why ? Well, Cain is a very selfish person and this is the first time in millenia that he cares more for another person than himself. That is the reason why the mark has gone. At that point, the priority for Cain was not to get rid of the mark. His priority was to hurt Lucifer by hurting Chloe. But even he couldnt carry out this plan finally. Cain didnt even notice that the mark has gone, he was no longer actively checking it. Loosing his mark was just some sort of side-effect. Kind regards, Oliver
@lukasr5867Ай бұрын
Sorry, but that just doesn't make sense. Why can't he hurt Lucifer directly? As long as Chloe is nearby, he is vulnerable. And Pierce had no problem fighting with Amenadiel earlier. And why would he waste that much energy and time on such an elaborate plan just to get revenge on Lucifer for not helping him anymore? Btw Lucifer was the one who initially offered his help, Pierce didn't want it. So why would he care so much about Lucifer retracting that help again? There is only one consistent path in Pierce's story, and that's him getting rid of his mark / being able to die. He want's to die. And he hopes that if Chloes love can make Lucifer vulnerable, it can do the same for him (Pierce). But right in that moment, when Chloe was about to say it, he remembered Maze's words about how cruel this would be on Chloe, and he found that he couldn't do it. That for once he cared about someone and didn't want them to get hurt.
