Vane once referred to Eleanor as "having power that just is", but I think that describes Madi much more so. She is amazing and is schooling Silver here. The Jack and Rogers carriage scene is so freaking good. Easily my favorite Jack scene of the series. I also really hate Rogers. He puts on the veneer of polite society but is no better than those he judges.
@CopyKatnj43 минут бұрын
Not in the youtube version is Rogers telling Jack the he, Rogers, only let people know what he let them know about his past. A very powerful statement from Rogers.

Nate wants to humiliate Ted just like he feels like he has always been humiliated…by the team, by the media, Jade, himself (kissing Keely).

Nate began the show being picked on and belittled. I think initially, he was very unsure of his own abilities but once Ted acknowledged that Nate could contribute, his mindset changed from being uncertain to feeling terribly unappreciated. It isn't enough to acknowledge him once - his damaged ego needs to be fed constantly. Every little setback - being snubbed at the restaurant, his kiss being rejected by Keely, or whatever - every setback buikds his resentment of others for their failure to acknowledge his perceived greatness.

Bullseye 😊 I’ve met someone very similar. They were picked on, promoted and became an egotistical person who lied and made life miserable for some workers. I was his direct manager. He let me down and lied about it. I had no choice but to sack him.

One of the cool things with this show is this parade of characters who present as simple, or at most moderately complex, archetypes. They never are. There's always just a bit more depth there than I thought we'd see.

An episode filled with communication, which is a good thing, even when it results in bad feelings. The only person hiding is Nate, keeping his leak supposedly anonymous until Trent revealed it. I don’t know if you caught the Good Will Hunting reference when Sharon said, “Son of a bitch, he stole my move.” That made me laugh on my first watch! IIRC, that’s just the fourth soldier Ted gave away, after Rebecca, Sam (who turned it down), and Jamie. Another person drinking water and also Irish breakfast tea for my morning caffeine, here in chilly Chicagoland.
@RR-oy1yh12 сағат бұрын
My theory is that Sharon also experienced someone close in her life committing suicide and that's what Ted reacts to while reading her letter. If you remember the episode where he's in her apartment after her crash, he spots a book she's reading called The Middle Passage: From Misery to Meaning in Middle Life. I think she was trying to make sense of her life in relation to the person she lost just like he is.

Thanks for highlighting the "one take" of the carriage rescue. It was done as a one take so that they didn't have to worry about inconsistency of dust caused by the horses and carriage on a dirt road in multiple takes. I have loved this show so much and seeing it through someone else's perspective does a wonderful job of finding new reasons to love it :)

🥰🥰 awweee i love these!! I remember my anger when I watched this episode and Trent wrote Ted! I’ll melt your face off later on Patreon but here, I’ll just say Sarah Niles (who play Dr Sharon) can’t ride a bike 😂 apparently those sections were hilarious to film and Jason calls the end result “movie magic” 😅 Also, it’s 2.30pm so I was sipping on coffee sitting on a car to the Lisbon airport while watching this 😊 holidays are over.

In an episode full of amazing moments, I really love the quiet conversation between Flint and Vane in Miranda's house. This show does a great job of highlighting character motivations and perspectives, and it's so interesting to see what is essentially at the core of all the animosity that had been between Flint and Vane in the beginning of the series and what has gentled into a basic inability to understand one another, despite their shared goals. Flint has been trying to build a home and Vane has been trying to remain free from anything even remotely resembling a shackle.

I love that conversation because it highlights the differences in how they see the world and how different their versions of Nassau would be. Let's say they succeeded in taking over the island, I think Flint and Vane would soon be at each other's throats again because Flint does want a society, some sort of government there, but Vane would see that as submission.

Fun fact- that hotel is the Hilton Syon Park. I happened to stay there in October, before I even saw the show. It’s on the grounds of Syon Park itself. It’s not far from actual Richmond and the other filming sites. The grounds and the estate of Syon Park has been used in a LOT of projects, being close to London, including Ted Lasso too and Bridgerton. I went to see it for the 1996 Emma too. Gwyneth Paltrow version.

This one is definitely one of my top 5 episodes. I love the energetic, anti-capitalist Red Guardian and the stoic, slowly breaking Winter soldier on a road trip. I like how despite his bombastic personality, Alexei is a good guy condemning murder and even helping Bucky getting some of his memories back. I like how Bucky is slowly shows more personality and shows his good side when he defends Alexei from Stane and the Red Room. Plus I love how both say “Technique” 😂

This show is the dictionary definition of a guilty pleasure. Terrible on practically every level.... and yet I've watched it all the way through like 4 or 5 times. 🤷♂ I love that your reactions on this one are only like 15-20 min, just enough time to watch the bullet points with you, but but not so much that one would easily get bored. Re. Chloe's reaction in the previous episode: when someone is really tightly controlled, they definitely _can_ snap when they let go! And let's not forget back in season two when she decided to go for it-and opened with butt-slapping and inappropriate comments! 😀 She's calm and collected _up to a point,_ but then she begins to flail!
@princejose45382 күн бұрын
Personally I don't think Chloe's reaction was over the top at all. From episode one of the season she has been vulnerable. In the church, with lucifer in the second episode and other situations. "Weepy" to quote you. I clearly connected with her emotions here. Because of the episodes before. She showed herself to be terrified already so. When she finally opens up... Yes she would shout out her feelings. Just my opinion.

I have watched several channels react to this series and this was the very first time I've heard anyone talk about Chloe's lack of personality. I agree 100%. There are a few great female characters in "Lucifer" (and more to come) and it has always bugged me that Chloe is so... bleh. Nothing against Lauren German at all but the writers really made the character so flat. She rarely smiles or laughs. Maze, Linda, Ella, Charlotte, Candy and even Trixie are more interesting than Chloe. Eve is awesome and there's another character coming down the road that is great, too. I get that Chloe is the female lead, and Lucifer's love interest, but why make her so dry?

Seeing as this series has introduced a bunch of biblical and even Talmudic characters into its lore, I’m surprised it has ignored the nephilim. Nephelim are the children of angels and humans.
