For some reason Hurricanes are pretty spongy in WT and apparantly also IL-2. Which is odd since it's constructed from wood unlike the full metal Spitfire. Explosive rounds should be quite lethal against wooden structure. There are some images from Soviet tests, where 12.7mm Berezin explosive bullets blew out huge junks from the wing surface of a Yak and La-5. Now imagine a 20mm with 6-7 times the filler.

Well the Mosquito was all wood, also durable. Watch British testing of minengeschoss, Spitfires got opened up like canoes from one round, Hurricanes stayed together for a tad more.

@ToreDL87 Didn’t see any tests against Hurricanes. 20mm Mineshells against the tail section had like no effect on the Spitfire and against the wings it rips the skin open which would induce some drag. We know that one 30mm against the wing is most likely going to be lethal so you probably need 4-5 20mm Mineshells to have that effect. Potentially more. I saw a British document about testing blast performance of incendiary material in explosive shells and one conclusion was that 20% less filler in HE and HEI shells resulted in around 40% less damage. So blast damage is basically exponential to the explosive amount. There are however pictures of Hurricanes being attacked by Italian planes with 12.7mm guns, and their small explosive shells removed large sections of the skin surface, leaving only the underlying structure, since wood isn’t as elastic as metal and is more susceptible to blast and fragmentation. But it’s probably because the wings were covered in fabric rather than wood, now that I think about it. That might actually work in favor of the survivability against explosive shells, since the fabric is easily blown away, without much buildup in pressure, while dural and wood traps the pressure like a balloon. Of course without any cover of the wings surface the drag would greatly increase. Whether the Mosquito was durable or not is difficult to answer. I don’t think that a Bf 110 would be less durable or that the Mosquito was somehow more durable than other aircraft.

Joystick simply. I have joystick and pedals because my twist axis broke in my joystick XD headtracking is very much necessary but I use mouse and its doable
