I don't know if anybody else wrote this but here is a list for the radars on your RWR: M29 - Mig29 and Su27 M2K - Mirage 2000 J8 - J8 F14 - F14 F15 - F15 F16 - F16 F18 - F4f Ice, AV8B plus, F20 TRF - Tornados in Fighter Configurations TGR - Tornados in Attacker Configurations J11 - J11 JAS39 - Gripen That should be the most important ones.

As of recent, friendly radars dont trigger your RWR, so every ping is guaranteed an enemy, so long as your RWR has IFF. Check in the hangar X-RAY view like you would when looking at engine power, ballistic computers, etc. i know for sure the geipen has IFF on the RWR

@@trainingdays Another thing! Everything that pops up as a "?" in your RWR is a bot, so dont worry about them

Certain IR missiles are actually 'radar-assisted', this is a function which for NATO aircraft is found with AIM-9G and onwards and R60 onwards for the Reds. These missiles may be IR-guided and can't launch with a radar lock alone but if you are struggling to acquire a lock with your IR missile, lock a target with the radar, then spool up the missile: the radar will actually paint the target and tell the missile seeker head to 'look' in that area. This means you can get a target solution for your IR-guided missiles without pointing your nose right at the target, so you can actually acquire and launch with almost a 'notching' manner. It's best tested with a RB test flight with, say, a Phantom with access to Aim-9Gs. Try locking the target, only then spool up the AIM-9 and it *should* 'look' straight at the target. If in range, it will then acquire and growl in your ear, if not, it will keep 'looking' until either it acquires or goes to sleep again. You may well have already known this but it's helped me out a few times, I find it can surprise enemies as they expect a (S)ARH missile and dump chaff to spoof the radar lock... to no avail. Hope you find this useful :D

That was a funny video 😂😂 I got some tips for you: 1: SAS: damping is the better for new players. 2: Use rectangular radar screen and use TWS mode. 3: Use the manual radar crosshair.but it on the Target in TWS mode and its called soft Lock cause he wont get notification of being locked and you can use that soft lock to slave your 9m 4: AIM9m is so good from rear acpact you can hit a target at 3 or 4 km (if he is not maneuvering )the optimal is 2.5 km,side aspect shoot at 2-2.5 km. 5: Always preflare close to the merge. One more thing, you can't shoot a FOX-1 with soft lock , soft lock works for FOX-2 and FOX-3 missiles. So if you are using FOX-1 missile you should soft lock your bandit and once you are in range then you hard lock the target and launch your FOX-1

I use damper to keep myself level in flight, being a keyboard an mouse player. I never truly need "full control". If I was using sticks I would probably stay in full control.

@@trainingdays One more thing, you can't shoot a FOX-1 with soft lock , soft lock works for FOX-2 and FOX-3 missiles. So if you are using FOX-1 missile you should soft lock your bandit and once you are in range then you hard lock the target and launch your FOX-1

The square radar display works a lot better than the circle sector display type. It offers more information and is less cluttered. That said the new cockpit-integrated radar displays are actually useable now so I wish I had an option to turn the HUD scopes off.

I think youd enjoy flying the f2h. Its one of the most powerful jets at 8.0. It accelerates well. Goes fast, and the drop tanks give you a huge amount of control over your fuel usage. It really only has two downsides. Limited ammo for it's 20mms. And its flaps The flaps on the f2h are unique. They cannot ever be ripped becauae they cannot be deoloyed above certain speed thresholds. The proboem however is that you go over the speed limit during takeoff. And they automatically retract. The speed limit is too low to be useful. And the flaps automatically retract when you go above the speed limit. That has actually caused me to crash on takeoff at least once as the nose dipped when i wasnt prepared to correct it. But, it also doesnt really NEED its flaps. Its mostly annoying for takeoff and landings

15:27 your RWR receivers dont cover directly above and below so when you roll and pulled and thought you lost their lock, they are actually still locking you directly below you. Hope that made sense.

I share your frustration with top teir. I find the mental reward for a kill is outweighed by the frustration of getting missiled all the time. I also share the skill issue, so there’s that. I think I’d enjoy having the performance of top teir jets in gunfights but the bvr fights and constant paranoia just really poopoo on the enjoyment factor for me. Been watching your stuff for a minute now and genuinely find you to be the best sim creator out there at the moment. Keep up the good work my dude o7

I’ve never played war thunder but after watching this video compared to your other videos I completely understand why high tier is kinda infuriating for you. It just seems like a lot of outmanoeuvring missiles and looking for quick openings compared to the fast pace and competitive dogfights of the lower tiers. Great video btw.

Clever green screening. He’s feeding live video from a second monitor that’s just set to look backwards full time. That or if he does it in post, he may just rip a second video of the replay looking straight back and lay it over the green screen. Either way it’s a good touch I haven’t seen anyone else doing.

No you get missile warnings if your plane is within the seeker cone of a missile, it might be for you, it might not. M29 is either a Mig29 or a Flanker, M2K is Mirage, and the ? is usually the Gripen I think

btw, all those missile warnings you get on your rwr are radar missiles, and flares dont do anything for radar missiles. you dont get warnings for ir missiles, unless you're in a mirake2k or j-11 which has maws/missile approach warning system.

I dont play sim but I do play top tier rb, the NATO rwr is great. it picks up on specific radars, M29 was just the mig 29's radar tracking and launching. If you ever get one that's just "MSL" that's a fox 3 going Pitbull on you.

Be careful with how many fuel tanks you take. I dont know the optimal weight for your plane but most dogfight the best with no droptank and below half fuel
