Hahahahaha! You guys are relatable! Not necessarily wasteful. There are only 2 people in our home, and we have this happen too. Celery goes bad, spring greens get slimy, carrots start growing, etc. The occasional leftovers get pushed behind stuff and start growing mold. I’m pretty sure it happens to most families. This video was great!

❤ Shelly ❤ You guys are totally fine! I'm very very sure there's so many others out there, that has had a refrigerator like that before. (I sure have). And as for the leftovers we keep those as well 😮 As for giving food to family, relatives, friends, ect... I've learned my lesson on giving my Tupperware, (thinking I'd get them back?) But never to be seen again, until I go to their house to eat, and see my Tupperware in their cabinets! 😅 So, now I do a few things to give to go food... I buy the to go compartment containers, or I will just put food in freezer ziploc, or the good ole fashion way... butter, cool whip, plastic ice cream containers! I now have all the rest of my Tupperware where it should be in my kitchen! Your right... for having a family as large as yours, your house is always so nice and neat!!! Love you all and love your channel. ❤❤❤

OMG thank you for showing what Really happens in large families!! Ours was small compared to y'all (four kids, two parents, blended family). 1. Fridge clean out day 2. Label your bins; cheese, meat veggies, 3. Product rotation: current cheese items are in the front of the bin and New cheese goes to the back of the bin. 4. Use small address labels to put "Bought on" dates on LEFTOVERS & veggies as they go into the fridge!!

Thanks for a candid vlog about embarrassing but very relatable situations. You might consider to (learn to) cook minimum waste recipes or to use leftovers for lunchables, stuffing for tortilla, spreadables or dip sauce. Maybe a fridge check once a week can be added to chores? You did a great job sorting all the fridges out. Caution cleaning with bleach.
@victoriabrake21032 ай бұрын
Suggestion for organization. 1. Make each section for different veggies and fruits so you know what you need when you go to the store if that section is out. Some like apples and carrots last longer than others like greens and tomatoes. 2. Or you could label each section with date bought so instead of putting things on top of others combine the dates and put older stuff together and newer stuff together. This way old stuff does not go bad UNDER the new food stuff.

A suggestion - you plan meals on your board so when you do so, you look in the cabinets and refrigerators to see what you already have and then you make a list (phone or paper) for what you still need. This should cut down on what you need to buy and hopefully reduce waste too.

Don't be embarrassed. I had the best of intentions when I bought my fresh vegetables and life went sideways for a minute. When things came back into alignment I started to cook (so I thought) everything was gross and spoiled. Now, I chop my cilantro, bell peppers, onions and freeze them. I freeze everything now, especially bananas. Otherwise, it all go to waste. You are not alone. You are normal.
@hizgrase2 ай бұрын
It’s honestly good to know other people do that. I buy vegetables because I eat healthy but honestly, I don’t need anything but boost right now. And it’s hard to buy single person portions and have food not go bad especially if you try to buy a lot of vegetables. They just don’t last very long. I try to share with my neighbors. And I try to vacuum and freeze portions as well.

Hi Shelley I use tin foil (aluminium wrap) in the bottom of my fridge drawers. If anything does happen to go bad, then just pull the tin foil out as it catches any juice. Make sure it goes up the sides of the drawers a little. After I take it out it’s just a quick spray to sanitise. But make sure the inside of the drawers are dry as the foil will stick otherwise. Much easier to keep the fridge drawers clean. Hope it helps. Best wishes from the UK.

Get some organization bins like in your pantry and keep condiments, sour cream etc all in one place that way you can see easier what you have this has been a huge help in our house so multiple of same item doesn’t get open. I have cut back on filling fridge as much even if means a few extra trips to store because things just seem to go bad so quickly anymore and too darn expensive.

We are a big family and sometimes things get overlooked. I made a 'rule' with my kids that to eat any fruit or veg before they go bad and if they see something gross to just throw it away. This helped us not have so many things just sitting and 'growing'.

I had to do this today in my house and there is only my wife and I. It is easy to do as you change meals around or forget what is there. Unless you keep little in your fridge and shop multiple times a week things go off sometimes. With so many people in the house why pay for a chef. Make one of the chores to check the fridges weekly and clear out the out of date or spoiled items. Thank you so much for buying that man a jacket. That says so much about you and your children. Oddly enough, I'd rather watch someone doing something so relatable as "discovering what's actually at the back nether regions of the fridge," then some fake influencer telling me I need to make my fridge aesthetic with plants and ceramic art work. Don't feel too bad. This happens to everyone at some point. You get busy, you have a life, you guys in particular have a lot of people and stuff to do, so yes, it can get bad in the old fridge, but alls good with some bleach and elbow grease and more at the store.

Do not be embarrassed by being real we appreciated it as viewers. Sometimes life happens gets a little chaotic and a little extra busy, and sometimes you fall a little behind forgetting things and get disorganized but what matters is your are cleaning it up now instead of ignoring it to the point of no return before it gets any worse rather then just puttingnit off longer making things worse for you worse. Highly suggest use apple cider vinegar with mother in it on a warm damp rag to help naturally disinfect your drawers no need to rinse just dry with paper towels very well so there is no worries of exposure to cleaner like lysol or bleach that could make you sick. And put a small empty apple sauce dish of baking soda in there to help absorb smells ❤ Love your family and your channel 😊 so glad you guys are just naturally yourselves makes yall so much more relatable compared to some other channels.
