I've always liked Xiaomi phones, they seemed to offer a great bang for the buck. And any shortfalls can typically be worked around with mods, apps, and custom firmware. Now they need to make the rest of the phone flush with the camera hump, and fill that extra space with battery. Also people lay their phones face down so they don't do the same "screen scratching" to their camera lenses. I did that to my LG V20 until I got a case that is thicker than the camera bump.

@@elchartps3 I never used a screen protector on my Mate 20 Pro and i tell you, after 2,5 years you really have to get in to it close up and in sunlight to evet notice the extreme minimal of scratches on the glass, it's not worth putting money on screen protectors imo. I have a clean mousepad the phone goes on, I'm not swishing it around on surfaces, and I'm not squishing it down, and a year in the screen is scratch-free with no screen protector -- pretty much the only damage is on the sides from dropping it.

I own the 12GB/512GB version of this (yes, it exists, not only 256GB) and it's an absolutely fantastic phone so far. Also, I have no idea how you managed to make it look that top heavy because it isn't. When I put my finger at the middle it's actually perfectly balanced. My hand is now used to holding the phone in such a way that it secures the grip by putting a finger to the bump, it actually makes it feel very secure in hand. Especially good since the ceramic back is so damn slippery..

honestly. ive been daily driving xiaomi the last 4 years or so and its honestly amazing how much hardware quality i got myself for 200 euros. 64 quad MP cam, decent SoC that makes it feel quite smooth. 6 gigs of ram and quite awesome battery life (more than enough for a day of quite intense use). Overal just really worthwhile. My redmi note 8 pro even came with a pretty nice case! (not top tier but it does the trick for me)

I am watching this video on a mi 11 ultra (12+512, China version) lol. I bought it the day it released and shipped it to the US. I brought this phone to T-mobile to get a new sim card, and the guy who served me literally yelled "Oh shit this phone is so cool!" Ngl the hardware on this camera is very good, but the software still needs some improvement. I just updated to Miui12.5, which had a huge improvement on the UI. Now, waiting for another minor update to be pushed that will significantly improve camera performance. When can Xiaomi add USB 3 to their phone??????

Good camera, ir blaster (hope receiver to "record" your custom remotes?) and 3.5mm jack... Yep i'm buying this i think. Don't mind the bump so much i think, although i'm kinda scared to break that whole glass thing that covers all the lenses and the screen. I'd rather have individual ones for each camera, in case one breaks you don't need to change all of it, on the other hand, change it all or just one part... Guess only the price will change, might actually be easier to change like this.
