But he picked the right people to be the top guys of the company. Hogan, Bret/Shawn, Austin/Rock, Cena, and Roman. Roman was a case of the right pick but initially presented in the wrong way as Vince had lost his touch by then but not his instinct. He was right about who the guy was but wrong in how to present him initially. What happened with Punk and the Elite would have never got that far in WWE because Vince or someone else would have handled it internally behind the scenes. That is what happens with structure and a boss instead of what you have a mark nerd as a boss that wants to be everyone's friend and not be a boss. Khan is a internet forum user that shit posts on social media in rants and makes a mockery of himself and his company in the process. Brawl out and the rest of the Punk situation was just the glaring symptom of a broken structure that took that long to get spotlighted openly and obvious to all. The writing on the wall was Cody leaving a company he helped found and Regal seeking quick exit to go back to WWE. Both of them are smart enough to see the boat is taking on water. The moment AEW booked Danielson to lose clean to Hangman after he came into AEW i knew the company had no real future as competition to WWE. They have zero insight in creating and maintaining hype. Wrestling fans can make their own initial hype for something on a debut or whatever. But when the immediate and early progression of events on the show kills that within two months it renders it meaningless. Which is what has happened to literally everyone AEW signs. The worst thing about that was that I don't even think he realized what he was doing wrong. The issue was more that Punk and Hangman agreed on what they were going to go out there to talk about and Hangman went into business for himself, but what he said was just as important. Hangman said he was going to defend AEW from Punk. Now if Hangman was the babyface and Punk was the heel, fine. Perfect. But it was the other way around. Hangman was the heel. He's the homegrown boy... one of the OGs and been there since day one. He's an Elite. That's a line that would turn him babyface and would turn Punk heel. These guys don't understand what they're doing out there and it's hilarious. The crowd actually did start reacting to that line as if they were going to flip both wrestlers. Ultimately nothing happened, but it could've completely changed Punk's entire trajectory as a babyface. If you think I'm full of it, then tell me what happened with Brit Baker and The Outcasts. She took the very same position, and it was the line that turned her babyface. She's protecting and defending AEW from these three women that came from WWE.

The problem is that they didn't capitalize on The Elite being in charge like they should have. There were no lasting repercussions to those who opposed them, they never tried to use the numbers advantage in their matches, they never even made a match where they had the advantage. Plus Christopher Daniels being the interim EVP and having the power to change not only undone anything The Elite (specifically The Young Bucks) have done but also put them into matches without much protest really damages the credibility of The Elite being in charge of AEW. What should have happened was The Elite do what they want, people try to stop them, those people were punished, and when Swerve Strickland's team defeated The Elite they had to either disband or stop being EVPs in storyline, with them settling for the latter.

I know people say AEW went down hill after Punk left, and it def did but AEW was starting to suck big time after Cody left. I just think many fans were in denial at that point because we still loved the company. But you can massively tell the difference in AEW pre Cody leaving and post leaving

Lol. Its never over for anyone on Tv. All the Elite would need to do is "Go Away." Play the background for a year and work on building other talent. After a year or so, start coming back into the picture as Baby Faces. NOONE is gonna complain or even speculate on whats going on when wrestlers disappear suddenly and then pop back up some time later. Its actually what fans love most about the biz. I think The Elites biggest issue is that they saw themselves as the "Bad Guys" and they ran with it. They should've "Masked" themselves as the Good Guys at that point, then later down the line, show their true colors....Ive said it before that AEW is smart. They just have to take more time to invest in building the script before handing it out to the talent.

AEW started off as a shining beacon of freshness, using talent who'd made a name for themselves on the independent scene (with just enough big names to give it credibility). Then, in no time at all, TK began importing former WWE talent wholesale, pushing those other names aside, spending money like a sixteen-year-old with his first paycheck. What does AEW feel like now? To me, it feels like the greasy car lot down the street where rundown cars are being passed off as fresh and with low miles. Horrid writing, flakey storylines that never finish, and too many former WWE guys that are constantly getting injured have merged into walking nightmare and ratings disaster.

I really don't understand this moronic modern trend of filling up your videos with random stock footage and clips that have nothing to do with the video content. Why is Steve Harvey here @1:52? Who the hell is this guy @4:58? Is Chandler Bing relevant somehow @7:24? Why do so many channels do this stupid shit these days? Is it like the video editors are all getting paid-by-the-hour, so they just stuff videos full of extra crap to justify a higher paycheck?

The fact that the Punk segment from All In is still their highest grossing episode shows how far they've fallen off. Credit to Mox for getting his hands dirty and trying to get the promotion into a reset. Hope the man-children TK and YBs grow up from this.

The way Tony sold that got shot completely took me out of it. I remember watching this when it happened and I just face palmed like “dude you don’t get that back. A gut punch you’re just supposed to double over and hold your stomach you can lay on the ground holding your stomach, but when you sell a gut punch like you were shot in the head, it just looks stupid.” But no harm no foul because nothing ever even went anywhere from that. That happened and then they just went onto next week and had another series of event happened and now nobody cares about it. Which I think their biggest problem is things just happened for the sake of happening on that show. So there is storytelling it’s just not good or coherent.

The Elites are beyond stale and boring and just have go away heat , they should go off screen role and let the new talents shine. Its no wonder AEW sucked most of 2024 when they were main focus of the show and it only started get better once they are gone. The AEW roster had so many talents that are sidelined or haven't been on tv for months. It's like Tony Khan finds a shiny new toy give them a mega push hype their debut then forget about them a month after . This start and stop booking doesn't help anyone, he need to hire competent writers and make consistent booking.

The biggest issue is that there isn’t anyone who knows how to tell long term compelling stories. They also can’t put petty issues aside to make money like had always been the case in wrestling. The best storylines are the ones mixed with real life issues.
