One thing not mentioned, your concrete price included labor. You and your job were smart chosing to have professionals do the concrete work. As George said, the concrete will never rot or have to be replaced. Love watching both you and Jason. You both are so talented. I am so excited watching you and your Dad build. One thing for sure when this build is done you won't be making payments on it for years. The shed to house was basically a shell, so money still had to be put into it. Plus all the interest your saving. Win Win on this build. ❤

Jared and Jason live in different climate areas and they are doing different types of construction. Jared is needing to build stronger d/t hurricanes and Jason building stronger d/t tornados. Don't forget to double top plate the walls so it ties them all together. Also on nailing use about half of what you did today. More isn't always better. How do I know all this you might ask. Well while I was running my mortgage business I actually got licensed and became a contractor. I just what to help as much as I can when I see things. But you all are doing a fantastic job looking good!

I didn't think the concrete price seemed that high. I wanted to pour a small slab to extend my driveway and it was not going to be cheap. I'm saving my pennies for that now. The build looks great and I really enjoy seeing your family pitch in and help. ❤❤❤❤

Yep stay away from Pea Gravel. All that's good for is to form ruts. Get limestone or 610 road base. Gets like concrete after it gets wet and packed down. Good luck and wish you the best with this and your tiny house.

Limestone doesn't lock in. It rolls off. Check to see what they have that interlocks. Here it's called " AA driveway gravel with fines." Once it's dropped and leveled out, it compacted tight, and it's just as tight as a concrete road. My snowplow man asked what I had for a driveway bcuz he is used to getting pull up when scaping the driveway clean. It didn't budge. I moved from that house in 2004. It's had no other work done since I left. And it's still as smooth as glass.
