Im so glad JJ brought up the Bucks management cheaping out and not wanting to pay PJ Tucker. Ive been saying it all season and Bucks fans have dismissed and said his been replaced by guys like Matthews and Grayson. No, Tucker was essential to the Bucks system because it allowed the Bucks to run the Giannis at the 5 lineup which gives them flexibility. Now that they dont have him, their forced to either go big, which Celtics took advantage of with all the open threes, or go Giannis at 5 with a bunch of undersized wings and guards around him and they have no business guarding a big forward like Tatum

People giving bud too much credit for the chip last year. Too many times it was just giannis or jrue goin 1v1 and jrue ain't at his best when u asking him to iso every other possession. The fact that Giannis Antetokounmpo was able to take this 7 gms without his sidekick, who at times is just as great, is absolutely a testament to his being the greatest player on the planet. Ran out gas and no help from the role-players. I may not like the way they play, but when Boston hits their shots they're nearly unstoppable due to their good defense on the other side. Credit to them. Hopefully we see less flopping, crying after every call, and a little more paint physicality from them in the next round. This series win means nothing if they don't at least get to the Finals. And better refereeing in that series for sure. Miami can shoot & defend as well, and will have homecourt advantage. Hold your heads Bucks & Giannis fans, they will be back next yr and better than ever. Sucks KMidd couldn't make it back. Fire series regardless, and crazy memorable

On the outside looking in, it does look surprising. However, if the Bucks had resigned PJ Tucker, they would have had to pay I believe at least a luxury-tax hit of close to 20 to 25 million dollars. The luxury-tax worked the way that it should,, it prevents teams from loading up on so many good players that is going to make it hard for other teams to compete. I wish the commentators would sometimes also look at the aspect of a salary cap.

These media members finally have understood that Tatum and Luka are on a league of their own among these young stars. All the talk about Book as the next Kobe, Ja as the face of the league, Trae Young showing off and all that. Trae Young was never a good choice and that trade they had for Luka was never great and a win win situation. You passed up on a historically great player and people in the media got overboard on the Trae train after them making the Conference Finals even though their competition to get their was horrible. Book has a lot of potential but he hasn’t even been to the playoffs without a stacked team and CP3 on the squad. He can’t be the best player in a team and win it all. He was with someone of his exact level and they still couldn’t get it done. And Ja has a lot of upside but his play-style is very concerning and it is very matchup based. He was great in the Warriors series because the Warriors had no paint protector. But we saw how bad he was against the Wolves when he was horrific and couldn’t get anything done at a consistent and efficient state. Tatum on the other hand has been phenomenal since Kyrie left. He led them to a Conference Finals prior to this in his first year as the main guy but because they faced a juggernaut Nets with 3 great players, he got overlooked even though he has been a top 12 player without question for the last 2-3 years. And Luka is just sensational. He is the best offensive player in the league. Not KD, bot Giannis, not LeBron, bot Kawhi. He is clearly the best offensive player because no one has an answer for him. We saw Giannis struggle in games this season and we have seen him struggle hard before. Even last year, he was horrible from the line and you could use that and before that multiple bodies just kept him off because he was scoring one dimensionally more often than not. KD was just shown to be guardable when you have a help defender to keep him out the high-post and not let him start to dribble inside the 3pt line. There is no way to even slow down Luka. The only thing that slows him down is himself because he can get inefficient here and there but even then he will still get you 25 and he will be a top 2 playmaker with Jokic being the only player you can rank over him in terms of generating for others. Maybe LeBron too but he wasn’t that this season because he didn’t have the team around him. Now his defense is very questionable which is why you might rank someone like Giannis over him when you look at how complete they are but right now he is without question a top 2 player and he has a chance to even surpass Giannis right now if he works his magic the rest of the way.

The Hawks were one of the worst teams in basketball the year before Trae…. If you can’t appreciate all of basketballs greatness then why watch it? Trae Young AND Luka averaged 28-29 a game in their 2nd seasons! How long have you been watching basketball? Can you name the last time a player in their 2nd season averaged more then 27 a game? It’s a list of all time great players correct? Didn’t Trae average 30 a game his 1st year in the playoffs and win a series? You heard Bev mention Young and Trae in the same sentence but you’re trashing him… grow up man, all these paragraphs for what? The Luka trade worked out for both teams, their in the playoffs year in and out, I dare you to suggest otherwise from a basketball and organization standpoint…

I’ll take Tatum over Doncic because of the defense. Shutting down Durant versus being hidden on defense is a massive gap that more than overcomes Doncic’s advantage as a scorer.

@@lordoffaiyum9727 yeah but Trae or Luka. It cones to that because you were either going to pick Luka or trade and get down a bit with an extra pick for Trae. I’m not saying Trae was a bad pick in general but knowing you would have gotten Luka who already had the experience of playing in the pros with a lot of his game already proven to Trae who was great in college but nowhere near Luka even at that time. There is a huge difference between a great player and historically great player.
