I dunno... I think all governments need a strong opposition in order to keep them on their toes. The Tories have always had wealth and connections on their side, so I think their fall into utter incompetence and corruption was more likely than Labour, but that's not to say Labour could not suffer a similar fate without the threat of opposition parties waiting to snatch their seats should the electorate become too dissatisfied.
@kyorin65269 ай бұрын
If Labour get in, we need to push them very hard for "Proportional Representation". That will ensure that we never have this style of government ever again.

Okay, the brilliance of this cannot be understated. As a parody lyricist myself, I can confidently state *this is one of the hardest songs out there to parody,* due to its complex ryhming structure and erratic line lengths. To be able to do it AT ALL is a massive achievement - to do it to this high standard is practically god-tier. I take my hat off to you - and offer some paracetamol for the inevitable headache generated as a side-effect of such an achievement. 😁

@@toyotaprius79 Blair who also doubled the UK economy in 8 years, took the NHS to the highest standards of any health care system in the World, took education to the highest of any western country on Earth and the only to compete with S Korea and Japan while still delivering the second highest growth of personal wealth among the working and lower classes in UK recorded economic history. That Tony Blair? Fun fact: When the Tories came into power the UK economy per capita was almost 1.2 times that of Germany where now its around .9 times that of Germany, when the Tories lied their way into power the UK economy was on the brink of overtaking the German economy in outright scale where now we're looking like falling behind Poland on a per capita basis. And Labour did that without sending 1/4 of children into abject poverty or pumping shit and effluent into the rivers and lakes, did that without destroying policing or putting 8 million people on waiting lists for health care and allowing schools to collapse. That Blair? Or were you thinking of Lionel?
@grahambuckerfield46409 ай бұрын
@@darthwiizius The Labour hard (not pragmatic there is a big difference) left never liked Attlee, greatest post war PM, nor Wilson (fought 5 elections, won 4 of them, brought major social change in education opportunities and let major reforms pass via his Home Secretary Roy Jenkins in a politically courageous move), Blair as stated via two landslides and a post Iraq 60 seat majority. The Tories could not capitalize on that issue. After Corbyn fell into an easy to see political trap, letting the vile, corrupt Johnson in with the biggest Tory win since 1987, the stubborn, thick old fool called it ‘a moral victory’.
