Can we take a moment to recognize this man for his honesty. People that don't want to change deny everything. He wouldn't be there telling his story if he wasn't sick of the life he's living. I want to start off by saying congratulations on a year of sobriety, this September makes 4 years for me! Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe the word your looking for is “accountability.” He is taking accountability for his actions by telling the truth in order to receive the help he needs. Accountability is hard to accept if I’m being completely honest with you. Now if I was to be honest with myself? I’d say taking accountability was the hardest part of the process for me. Acknowledging and admitting to the actions and decisions I made was eye-openingly difficult!

The most impressive person in this whole story is his daughter. She called into the show for help, and she definitely is responsible for saving his life. She's extremely, incredibly strong and sweet and beautiful and he's so lucky he has a family willing to help him through sickness and in health. His wife was basically raising these children alone and she's a phenomenal woman and mother. Don't ever let go of the love and support you have! ❤

I sure hope he really wins this battle with addiction for him and all if his family who has stayed by his side through the hardest time. This story has been worst than having to raise children by yourself because everything that you worked for is being snatched away from you. And then you have to answer to those little ones you love and that breaks your heart even more. It like taking two steps forward and 5 steps back especially one you start adding the broken promises.

Don never once blamed anyone or anything for his downward spiral of stealing to support his drug addiction. He took full responsibility for his actions; denied nothing except happiness for himself and his family. Very rare on a show like this. You could almost sense some remorse in his voice. I respect his honesty and how he accepts accountability for his action. I've been there, functioning addict for about a year. Took care of my son, worked every day, didn't run the streets, kept bills paid and food stocked. My use was my way of numbing myself to my mother's abuse...when i was high, i didn't feel the pain and hurt. I stopped because of my son who was three, the thought of me not being there for him and her having to raise him scared the hell out of me. I quit cold turkey. I've been clean almost 40 years, never looked back. Made an amazing life for my family and myself. Crack is not a "just let me try this just once"....its the FAandFO drug. I've lost friends because of it. Addiction is a monster and until you walk in the shoes of and addict you will never quite understand the physical, mental and emotional toll it takes on you. To those of you out there fighting this battle, please don't give up and dont let your shame, fear stop you from asking for help. Peace and blessings.

This made me cry .. I wish for one second my son's dad or my ex would've have admitted they had a problem and said yes to getting help. Proud he asked for help. That's the first step

That was the episode of your 15 seasons. He's a great guy, with flaws, beautiful wife, and what a family. Just great

It was really heartbreaking to see her walk out there and hug her dad. Because typically for children, no matter how badly out parents hurt us, we still love them and want to be nurtured by them. He's destroying her and she still wants to be comforted by him.

It's hard to not cry during this episode since I lost my father from drugs at 15 and currently loosing my mom from them now to the point she's abandoned me. It's just so hard and I wish he would've gotten rehab

This hits me so hard, my dad abandoned my brother, me and my mother for drugs. He stole everything from us We had nothing for so long. It really does destroy families.

Im 7 years sober (lord willing will have 8 years next month). I was the biggest piece of 💩 on the planet. I didn’t care about nothing, didn’t care if I lived or died. The fighting, the Im sorrys etc are all true. I pray people never experience addiction. You destroy yourself and your family. I know people will never fully understand as well. I am grateful everyday I have another chance. I work my ass off to prove myself. This guy has to want sobriety he has to fight for it. I lost friends who went back out. I pray he’s sober
