IT'S THE FIRST TIME FOR ME!! Reacting to "Tracer vs Scout Death Battle" TF2 vs Overwatch!

Fun Fact: A lot of people despise this epsiode. Not for the winner (most people agree Tracer wins, these days she has calcs putting her between 6,000 and 9,000 MPH in reaction speed) but for the animation. Scout's entire character and fighting style is based on unpredictability and speed, jumping around the battlefield every two seconds to gain an advantage. Here, they treat him as a juggernaut, a tank who stands and just takes whatever is thrown at him. It's a pretty decent fight, but horribly misrepresents the character who lost.

i honestly don't get the reaction time thing. while widow was aiming tracer looked at widow, planned to teleport, then teleported after the bullet was fired, did they calculate how fast it took tracer to teleport after looking at widow? because it honestly just looked like a close call sort of thing with tracer just noticing that widow was aiming and then teleported.

No they don’t agree that at all lol. The thing is, tf2 Mercs are ridiculously superhuman, and they just didn’t take that into account at all lmao. Plus there’s also the really REALLY silly lore. Like the fact that scout can canonically not die until he’s slept with every woman on earth. And even cartoon logic like that aside… he’s able to dodge bullets with his legs, is supposed to… Yknow… run…, he used ONLY stock weapons besides the bonk, and she survived the fuckin out of the park that can one shot a heavy.

I mean canonically Tracer can't take a shot to her time chasse without it severely compromising her abilities or outright deleting her from the timeline for awhile, which is a fairly severe weakness. The other problem a lot of people had is that they seemed to use stock, in-game scout Vs fully cinematic Tracer, which is kind of a copout when you realize Scouts stupid-strong without realizing it, ontop of being overall faster than Tracer on average based on in-game testing and durable enough to take rockets directly without dying. Oh and Deathbattle cherrypicking what details are and should be allowed. Like saying Tracer (who was obviously seeing the scope line up with her ahewd of time) was reacting to a bullet after it had left the gun already, while completely writing off Scouts durability against three missiles because "we dont see them hit him" (despite the angle and smoke trails and the *explosion* showing them do just that. Oh. And the animator for the fight outright admitted he doesn't like TF2 so... Overall this was a poorly made episode. You want something better? Watch the tf2 vs overwatch 1 and 2 from Winglet.

I would honestly say this fight is pretty poorly represented. Scout’s fighting style was changed, with them having him just stand around and shoot while he’s depicted to run and jump around his opponents and use his surroundings to his advantage. And even ingame, the best playstyle for scout is exactly that (even though ingame playstyles aren’t canon). They definitely should’ve brought up more ingame unlocks as well as they’re canon. He definitely would’ve done better if they had him utilize the Pretty Boy’s Pocket Pistol for hp regen, Baby Face’s Blaster for speed boosts (making him canonically run at 22 mph), Wrap Assassin and Cleaver for bleed effects, etc. Not only would this give him the edge but giving the comics a more weighing impact would as well as all the mercs are made more powerful in the comics. Most, if not all, the mercs are practically super human due to feats from the comics. I’m completely fine with Tracer winning (though I could see Scout winning if he’s able to use his unlocks and comic strength), it’s just the way they depicted Scout that makes me not like this Death Battle.

Mercs *are* superhuman thanks to Medic practically putting anything he can find in them. Their blood isnt just blood anymore. They dont have souls. Their physical capabilities are off the charts. Scout can jump *twice* cannonically. TWICE. He can literally step on air to jump once again. Heavy can kill a big ass mother brown bear with his bare hands and not get a scratch. Most of the team has extremely high pain tolerance. Soldier and demo has explosion resistances. List goes on an on. Prolonged exposure of Austuralium and Medic's experiments made them inhuman. While I doubt gameplay mechanics would apply to scout in comics or lore, Even with stock weaponry this would be a close fight since Scout *is* faster individually but Tracer's teleportation makes up for it. IF Scout's weapons are included, Bonk is a insta win. Since canonically he doesnt become invincible, he becomes fast enough to dodge bullets. There is a reason you see ''MISS'' effects and Scout's ''Missed me! Nope! Cant hit what aint there!'' taunts during Bonk effect. Death Battle normally researches these pretty well. Its a shame they were too sloppy to turn Scout into a slow, incompetent dude. They even used his Bonk wrong.

​@@galonski64 Weapons do change him a lot. Bonk makes the guy faster than a bullet for a while. Tracer can teleport, not move at the speed faster than sound. She simply cant react to it. The biggest mistake Death Battle did was including the Bonk. If they said ''Stock Scout'' or any other set, then he would lose. But Bonk itself is op enough to change the tides rather easly. In any case, In the animation Tracer was favored a lot. Scout invented double jump, he literally has a backstory about how ''If he cant be as strong as his brothers, he will be faster''. Dude is the representation of speed. Thats his ONLY gimmick. Engineer has 4 different builds, Spy has disguises, backstabs, invisibilty. Sniper is.. well, sniper. But even he has different playstyles. Scout, no matter what you equip him with, always relies on his speed. ALWAYS. And in the animation, dude barely walked let alone running and jumping like he should've. While Tracer on the other hand had her unlimited amount of teleports untill they said ''nah we'll let her get hit so it wont be too obvious''. AND Had her ult, twice. At the start and at the end. She was allowed to interact with Scout (stopping him from drinking the bonk) while scout himself wasnt allowed to interact with anything at all.

yes they dident use all the scaut wepons but they coldent scaut likes to run and gun, go fast and therefore the only thing he caries is 3 wepons/or 2 wepons and 1 comsomabel all of them light. the battle honestly sucked when it came to the animation. If they had represented scout better it would've been fine, but he hardly ran, barely used any of his weapons, and they had him do a taunt kill on tracer, sending her into the sky, WHILE ALSO NOT KILLING HER INSTANTLY. Like even ignoring the game mechanic where a taunt kill is an insta kill, the amount of power needed to bat a person that far into the air would immediately kill them.

Not to mention when they included ''Cinematic'' Tracer with two bombs and A LOT more than just 3 teleports, They didnt add her one gigantic weakness. The DEVICE on her chest. Widowmaker barely kicks her and she is out of comission since the device is damaged. Scout sends her FLYING and let alone dying, her technology is perfectly fine. They mention how she can react to a bullet (which is a false claim since she reacted to Widowmaker aiming at her, not the bullet itself. Tracer is a normal human with a teleportation/time manipulation device. If she waited to see the bullet, She couldnt activate the teleportation fast enough. We saw her getting beaten by Doomfist before.) BUT they forget that Bonk makes the user faster than sound. Scout can dodge ANYTHING during that time. Which makes him faster. Which means it would be an insta win for him if they actually wanted to look at its effects.

Just to let you know Duck, Death Battle didn't use all of Scout's feats to their fullest. Scout can survive a strangling from Saxton Hale, he has magical abilities, and his speed exceeds Tracer's regular speed. They did not use the TF2 comics are canon, which means this Death Battle is Scout's win.

My one problem was tracer's feat with the sniper rifle. It seems to assume that she only started to react after the shot was fired, which seems very unlikely. I think it's more likely that she would react and try to blink away as soon as she saw the gun, making her reaction time still very fast but much more within the realm of plausibility. Not that it would change the outcome of the fight, really.

They actually got that part wrong entirely, she didn't willingly blink out of the way of that, Widowmaker literally shot Tracer through the accelerator, forcing a blink from it. This is proven by the fact that afterword Tracer quickly checks herself wondering what just happened.

Uh, Scout isn't faster than Usain Bolt. He is slightly faster than average. And Tracer has taken her share of punishment, and even if he DOES shatter her ribcage, she can rewind that.

ok, probably wrong on that first part, but he is still more than strong enough to break her chronal accelerator to prevent her from recalling if he doesn't down right kill in one hit, and the Doomfist gauntlet feat isn't that impressive when you realize A: Doomfist wasn't using the gauntlet, so it probably wasn't anywhere near full strength. B: In the Widow v Widow DB, they even went as far as suggesting that even Doomfist himself couldn't level a skyscraper in one go. Using Widow to scale Tracer's durability was a bad move on their part, and while I believe Tracer has more reliable evasive abilities and more powerful weapons, she certainly doesn't stand up to Scout's raw strength and more importantly, consistency.

This. So much this. I mean, this episode alone seems to imply that tracer's more durable then a fully overhealed heavy when one of tracer's main weaknesses is her relative frailty. Even if she did hang on through that taunt kill somehow, there's no way she'd be conscious enough to do... anything if a venom mine can leave her vulnerable long enough for a notable dramatic pause. That, plus things like scout being offered his full arsenal in the analysis but only having stock + bonk actually taken into account. Or how inconsistently(and maybe impossibly) tracer's ultimate charges.

Maybe, maybe not. A lot of the characters that show up on Death Battle, including these two, I typically don't care about one way or the other, regardless of the presentation. If I ever care about a character enough to learn more about him or her, there's nothing really stopping me from just checking official sources elsewhere, or even the games/whatever media they're in. Case in point, I know more about Scout than I did back in 2016 due to having watched the "Meet the Team" and "Expiration Date" videos since that time. (Never had much interest in playing either game, though. Not really my thing.) To put it simply, far be it from me not to enjoy something just because of the flaws in the program. Everything has 'em, after all. >^_^

I'll leave it to the other commenters to argue who should have won, but this fight was definitely biased. Anyone who had played TF2 for more than 1 hour knows that Scout's supposed to dodge anything that comes at him, not just take hits like he did in this death battle. Also, Bonk's actually supposed to make you move so fast that LITERALLY nothing can hit you, it's just that coding it in like that would probably be difficult, and it would probably be broken and unbalanced as well. One of his pistols is also literally a laser pistol. In the game it's just a reskin because yes, but realistically, well, it's a fucking laser pistol. Also, they discussed all his weapons and skills but used practically none of them, and also didn't include anything from MvM or Scream Fortress.

"Future tech" is kind of a hollow label. It's the numbers that metter. For example, Little Mac in Punch-Out can defeat "heavyweight" boxers! (Heavyweight is the hollow label here) If Son Goku from Dragon Ball started boxing, he'd be a lightweight / light welterweight based off his height and weight. This one has been debunked so many times over the past several years by so many different people in so many different ways, that Scout should just have the win here. Especially since Death Battle isn't in any way an authority on the VS Community. This episode came out less than 4 months after Overwatch released, so they rigged the results to cash in on the hype. @KAHANU ERMEYAS-TULU Found the Tracer fanboy. Scout has weapons that can vaporize human bodies completely. The kinetic energy required for such a feat is far greater than anything Tracer has survived. And he has weapons that shoot lasers. Beams of light that obviously travel faster than anything Tracer has ever reacted to. So Scout's weapons alone already defeat Tracer. That isn't even counting Scout himself who survived abuse from Saxton Hale. Saxton Hale was able to punch a yeti so hard it exploded. Yet another feat requiring more kinetic energy than anything Tracer has survived. Plus Death Battle says we never see where Soldier's rockets hit Scout even though we literally get a first person view lol. They definitely rigged it and even got Scout's information totally incorrect. Bonk doesn't make Scout invincible. That's just how it works in gameplay because it'd be impossible to program how it ACTUALLY works in canon where it makes Scout so fast that everything misses, including the Sniper's gunfire or those speed of light laser weapons at close range. Plus they left out lots of Scout's weapons that can let Scout heal himself, do even more damage to his foes, or his magic spells. Then finally, even if this Death Battle was correct when it came out (which it wasn't lol.) it doesn't matter anymore because Medic made some super shady deals with everyone's souls in the comics and now respawning is basically canon. Both Medic and Scout have already come back from death on their own, so if Tracer killed Scout, he'd just keep coming back again and again until he kills her instead. Tracer wouldn't have a way to put him down for good unless she has some soul-based attacks or hax. Which she doesn't.

Scout wasnt here at all. Bonk makes him fast, not invincible. The moment they added it, it would've been a game over considering he IS fast enough to dodge incoming bullets. His fighting style was garbage as well. For a man who invented double jumping, he acted as if he had no legs. For a guy who taunts his enemies being ''too slow'', dude barely jogged. In melee, Scout would win for the simple fact that unlike Overwatch characters (most), TF2 mercs are actually quite experienced in hand to hand combat while in Overwatch its the last resort of anything else you currently have on you not working.

Day 17 of asking for Game Theorists FNaF I wouldnt worry about it now, but warning when you play through and complete the games people tend to ask you to play the fangames, most notably The Joy Of Creation (theres 2 games, reborn which is a free roam survival game, and then the story mode game which is most peoples favorite). And five Nights at Candys a series that has 3 games, technically 4 if you count the remaster of the first game, its pretty much FNaF but with Cats, Rats, chimps, penguins, whatever the hell the character Blank is supposed to be.

Yea this one was pretty one sided, they pretty much only did it cuz "Fast character from popular, somewhat similar games duel" The outcome was obvious but they didn't represent scout very well, he wasn't moving hardly at all in their animation. The Winglet did this fight better in the first TF2 VS Overwatch video you watched a while back.

Death Battle's a poor source for determining an accurate outcome. They have a tendency to screw up their facts and pick the winner based on popularity, John-117 VS Doomguy being a prime example. Realistically, John should have lost that hands-down. Also, they admitted Tifa should've won. And while RWBY's utter shite, I'm still salty over the Mitsuru VS Weiss fight, considering Weiss is adaptable and isn't limited to Ice dust *which Mitsuru is immune to-* sorry, Death Battle is bullshit and Roosterteeth is raw sewage, especially these days.

Tracer's speed comes from her blinks (though yeah animation wise it seems she's a bit more free in using them) and Scout is just naturally really fast. The fact that in the animation he casually walks up to tracer while under bonk without straight up just running at her is dumb. When it comes to combat, scout is cocky, not stupid. He really should have been constantly in motion, and moving from place to place even if he takes damage because that's what he's good at (you can even see it in "Meet the Scout"). Also, if I remember correctly, somebody actually managed to calculate the force required for him to do the homerun taunt kill. You know where he's capable of yeeting every class (*including the Heavy*) approximately the same distance, and the force required is actually stupid - meaning his arm strength is equally stupid. Just being hit by scout's bat would most likely kill the average human near instantly. Other weapons the Scout could have used in the animation: Shortstop for medium-long range combat. Baby Face's Blaster: Moves even faster after dishing out certain levels of damage. Back Scatter: Because he's an ambush class. C.A.P.P.E.R: Laser pistol -nuff said. Flying Guillotine: The in-game velocity at which he throws this thing is kind of stupid - also causes bleed. List of assorted Melee weapons - with varying weights, one of them being the Batsaber, and another being a literal railroad crossing sign. and last of all, thanks to the TF2 comics, we know he's technically immortal due to Medic messing with souls.

The other game involved in the Tracer skit is called Heroes of the Storm, a battle arena with a lot of Blizzard's famous characters in a variety of roles on a variety of maps. Personal fave of mine and was very interesting to see them actually include that in this video.
