Ive had my PS5 for over 2 years and i cleaned it this month for the first time. It barely had any dust in it. I just took off the side panels and vacuumed. I keep it covered when I'm not using it, so that helps prevent dust from getting inside.

Some of these steps can be very difficult to do like removing the fan inside your PS5 console yeah I don’t think I want to do there since I’m not professional like you John bro and you are so good on giving these steps for us to learn and what we should do and it’s always good to learn your videos but sometimes it can be hard to know what you are doing it’s not easily for most people like me but great tips on how to learn to clean the PS5 console
@Frezzyy2 жыл бұрын
I don't understand, to disassemble the fan its maybe 3 or 4 steps in total but ok, maybe its too hard for some people.. If you want to be less scared, take apart an old electronic (phone, remote, idk) that you don't care if it breaks and get used to cleaning and taking apart stuff like this. There's plenty of things you can do, but if you don't take care of your stuff, its your fault if it breaks or starts to malfunction

@@Frezzyy It's honestly amazing how many people are afraid to get to know they're console, or do a bit of light work lol crazy how they'd rather have it all dusty inside or pay someone to do it. Guess they don't care enough about their purchase or to learn something new.

This is why I literally hate the PS5's design because not only is it horrendously huge, heavy, and difficult to carry around, the ventilation area is completely exposed, which allows dust to seep in very easily and within short periods. I keep mine covered in a plastic bag and remove it only when I use it. Sony clearly didn't try hard enough in improving the design and just wanted to launch it immediately to keep their money flowing in.

*FYI GUYS* ³ There's plenty of tutorials online that will guide you with ease. Of course, don't plan on eating a greasy burger or drinking a cold beverage whilst doing the job. If possible, wear electrician blue rubber gloves to prevent finger markings and damage any chipboard if you need to touch it for any reason. Don't use too much force removing/adding anything, especially screws. Doing so can cause the tension to crack the plastic. When you've accessed the fan, DO NOT MOUTH BLOW THE DUST AWAY. As it's from your mouth , your breathing will add moisture to the blow, and that ain't good!

You forgot to mention the Dust that builds up inside the PS5 system. When you remove the Fan and look down inside the console to where the power unit is. I clean my console regularly, but just recently found this on reddit. My console just turned off in the middle of playing, due to overheating. It's very hard to reach with a vacuum, but theres small holes. Mine were completely sealed. I used compressed co2 to blow the dust out. It's very important to clean too. Greetings and nice video.

Also as a side note from a repair tech....... from experience its a bad idea to have your console sit vertically. When the console runs to hot the cpu adhesive compound may liquefy and run down the board itself. Every single console i own runs and sits horizontally. I know some console owners who had this problem and sent it to me for repairs or had to buy another one out of pocket. Its a good idea in the long run. Also have them sit on a glass shelve rather than wood. Glass stays cooler longer and does not retain heat like a wood shelve. If you have your console staying cool with a fan stand you may wanna check it for dust 1x every 2 months cause now you have more fans helping blow air into it.
