@@-HeyLyd- I believe you are right. There is so much liability for a truck firm to have drivers that have a bad driver's record. I had a clean record for years when I retired at 70 years of age. I could tell my reactions, eye sight, and endurance were all waining due to age, and it was time to retire. But they kept coming after me to come back for several years. That clean record is worth quite a lot.

Yeah, not his fault though, faulty automatic door closers, poor sod clearly didn't understand he had to report them to get them fixed. Had he done so he'd have had the perfect defence to the noise complaints, just produce the reporting of the faults, landlord's responsibility. They have to be fitted & working properly for fire code. Can't speak to the other issues, but the NOISE is down to shitty property maintenance.

Fun fact about contracts: in France, you can hire some with no term limit without a contract. Their 1st paycheck becomes the de facto proof. But few employers do this for legal reasons. However, this also means that a "firm promise to hire" for such a position, even via SMS, is a de facto contract. A guy once sued a company that promised to hire then went back on that promise at the last second. Had they warned the guy within a reasonable amount of time, he might've not sued. But they pulled the rug something like two weeks before he was scheduled to begin work and he had thought for months that they had hired him (even though no contract had been signed).

Im learned in my 37 years driving, take responsibility and ask the judge for lenancy , if you have a decade of clean driving, you will get breaks, but if you have 11 excuses, you getting the max.. Im surprised he didn't call the cop racist and he couldn't breathe when the lights/siren came on.

Hell, the officer already gave him a break with 30 in a 25 instead of 44 in a 25, the moron was too stupid to take the bargain he was given

I would have appealed as the defendant was not given an opportunity to question the officer,
