Anyone with eyes can tell you the QB is not the problem in this offense. I don’t get why they won’t sign a veteran who has actually played the LT position before. It literally can’t get worse! The way Wolf handles the OT position is terrifying.

They're lying because their job is to be radio entertainers. Drake Maye starting and succeeding or bombing and self-imploding are both good content. Winning 4-7 games for a few seasons during a rebuild doesn't make good radio. When there is nothing interesting to talk about for 4 hours they'll create wish lists of things they hope will happen to drive content.

No but Maye might actually be able to evade the rush a little bit and make some adjustments at the line. Jacoby is horrible at everything. He makes no adjustments to protect himself at the line, he’s slow as hell, and he throws the ball away way too often at the sight of the rush. 1.8 yards per pass play…awful.

There's plays, Jacoby is looking at a NFL open receiver and he doesn't throw the ball. He's terrified to throw an INT. Because that's all Jacoby has going for himself is saying he doesn't turn the ball over. He know once he throws interceptions he will be benched for Drake. And he doesn't want to lose the starting job.

I always tend to root against Sports radio narratives and takes on what teams should do. Their takes are always based on what makes for the most entertaining content not what's best for the team. They could care less if the entertainment comes from a dynasty or an epic self implosion, both are entertaining. What's not entertaining is winning 4-7 games for 3 years while you rebuild.

It’s because they prioritize what’s important to them - ratings and viewership. If Maye starts, interest surges. If Maye is great or horrendous, they have plenty of hot takes to survive the rest of the season. Brissett is boring. You know what you’re going to get and we knew what his job was going into the year. They have nothing to talk about. Anyone with any investment in this team as a fan understands this year is a wash and Maye should be learning and training and watching while Brissett does what he was signed to do - get through 3/4s of a season for guaranteed money and take a beating because the rest of the team stinks.

Don’t even have to look at Mac Jones, look at Carolina and what they did with their #1 overall pick. Traded up to get him, but had nothing there to help him out, and instead of showing progress he’s probably shown regression from last year to this year. I’m not saying things will get fixed within a year, they won’t. I said it last year, I’ll say it again now, they’re going to be bad for a few years. At least 3 more, maybe 5, there is no such thing as instant success when you suck. No one amazing wants to sign during free agency, or get traded to you, no matter how much you throw at them, which means you have to depend on the draft, and if you don’t hit on your picks (as they haven’t for years) it’s going to take even longer. Everyone pointed at Stroud, but forgets that Caserio had been working on rebuilding that team for years before they got their QB. He’s an important piece, no doubt, but it helped that he had a decent line to protect him and receivers to throw to, and a running game that could keep defenses honest enough for him. If he had gone to Carolina, that team would still suck. Score more points maybe, but not enough to win games, especially with that line. As for some of these radio guys trying to talk about Mayo getting fired after this year, him and Wolf aren’t going anywhere imo. Kraft has made it clear time and again, Mayo’s his guy. Especially with that “I knew five years ago” comment. He wants to be right, so he’s going to give him a couple of years (my best guess is around 3) to try and turn it around. He’s not going to be gone this offseason so stop with that.
