Great video, I wonder if you know what it's like when you have nivomat (self-adjusting) leaf springs and shock absorbers on the car, will it still work with your control arm? or do you need to have regular leaf springs? And why do you need to cut off a piece of the leaf spring?
@SATSMotors7 ай бұрын
It will work with nivomat, but it will be better with regular leaf and shocks. Nivomat will not lower that much and the nivomat shock will try to raise the car up. The end of the leaf spring needs to be cut of because it will hit the knuckle. The leaf spring is not designed to go that low on the control arm.

Looks awesome! Congrats! Will it work with nivomats?
@SATSMotors11 ай бұрын
It works with nivomat, but the nivomat shock will raise the car up and will not be as low.

Really cool! Looks well made and is it lighter than the original part ?

Lighter then original, but still strong enough!

Is it possible to remove the leafspring and put coilovers in the back or is there a way i can get is lower
@SATSMotors4 ай бұрын
it is possible, but the coilovers are quite expensive and the lower control arm where the coilover will mount is not made for that kind of load and may break off.
@louisderycke62004 ай бұрын
@@SATSMotorsis there a place that i can find stronger lower control arms
@SATSMotors4 ай бұрын
You can let some fabricator strengthen it. But nothing for sale. If you use the car on good roads and not that much hard driving and heavy loads you can just fit the coilovers. Most do it this way. But I have seen many breaking also.

I have the opportunity to buy a late 90’s 960 (S90). Im well versed in fabrication but I’m worried I will not be able to get the car low enough. I would like it to tuck the top of the tire or more behind the fender. This is very awesome and definitely a step in the right direction for the 960. But does anyone know the hard limit to how low you can go? and what it takes to get there. Thanks in advance.
@SATSMotors9 ай бұрын
With leaf spring you can go a bit lower then in the video, but not much.

What’s the benefits of this over rear Coilovers?
@SATSMotors7 ай бұрын
You could still use the OE leaf spring and also the OE shock absorbers. Coils work well, but the lower shock absorber mount is a weak point and might break when the spring force is also on it.

random question: how is the rear hatch glass of your 944 holding up after resealing it a year ago?

Still perfect! Only the top molding does not fit well. Had used a little bit to much sealant up top. Now the molding don't clip on as it should.

Take off the gas struts and the lock mechanism from the hatch. Otherwise it will force the glass away from the hatch.

I use JR16 18x8,5 ET40 wheels with 235/40 R18. Rear ride height adjustment range is 75 mm with 15 mm steps. Maximum lowering from standard ride height is about 50-65 mm depending on the car. My car is about 50mm lower then original. I can ship to Norway. Contact satsmotors@gmail.com
