To combat the corner route out of trips with two verticals just run palms.. In trips the quarter flat mans up the number two and the safety takes the number 3 wr.. I love match

I click on them and move them around but it’s hard to do if your being quick hiked if the player is doing that base your defense out and adjust the yards on coverage in the r3 menu

@@Maddog71xx I've been using cover 9 against bunch. Put the hook curl closest to the corner flat side on a Hard Flat, and user that player. The cloud flat corner plays the WR corner route... and ill take flats. Been working well.

@@Maddog71xx I have only changed that one hook curl to a hard flat so that the cornerback in the cloud flat knows that the shallow flats are covered, and will play more of a curl flat instead. I leave everything else the same. Haven't experimented much with it yet

@Xan so I've been labbing and I can't figure out how to match on a Bunch set with the rb on a route to the same side. With out useriering the rb the quarter zone isn't consistently covering the same person. Sometimes he guards the side line sometimes he guards the rb and sometimes he gets confused and sits in the middle. Also, over the top middle of the field the weak side Safety isn't taking the deep middle. Also on a mesh concept the rb is streaking out the back field for a 1 play touchdown. When he does get guarded for some reason he's getting burnt.

What coverage ratings are used when in Match? Do your defenders still cover and react based on their zone coverage rating? Or do they revert to their man coverage rating?

Play Rec, Man, Zone ratings. Play Rec goes to how fast the defender recognizes its vertical responsibility and Man Cov from there. Of course speed matters.

Cover 3 match was nice last year but it glitches out for often then not when theres no receiver starting on that thirds side sometimes its hard to re zone the outside third

Zan you don’t understand how much I was looking for this!! I never really ran any of the meta blitzes. I usually run zone or man, make my own adjustments and user the middle. I love running match but once I found out it was broken I stopped. I never really understood the fundamentals of match tho. I’ve always been pretty good defensively. In online H2H I’m like 55-9 and I only allow like 10 PPG. This is gonna help me keep people in single digit scoring numbers. Definitely joining your site in a couple days too lol

I'm glad Madden finally leaning towards the side of Realism. I'm a good player and I can read and identify what passing concepts defeat certain defenses. I won the vast majority of my games and play good defense as well. Playing defense is not about exploiting the game with things such as the loop blitz or Nanoblitzes from past Maddens. It's about matching personnel, and calling functional and situationally good defenses. Defense is not a "1 Size fits all." Players that rely on Concepts over exploits and broken mechanics are actually good players and were unaffected by the Patch. Anyone who believes otherwise is just coping and was a primary beneficiary of the faulty mechanics in the game.

It’s a societal thing, we all want instant gratification. No one wants to learn and earn. I’ve spent the last 4-5 years learning the basics of football in general. The more I learned the more I realized I didn’t have to make half the adjustments I used to because…it’s already programmed in the game. Not gonna say I’m the greatest, however, when someone does something in game I generally know what they are doing. It’s more so, how do I do what I want to do lol that’s when you get into the things madden DOESNT have. There are things not coded correctly. That’s another conversation. All in all, the stuff most people complain about…If they spent as much time finding all the glitches as they did on just learning the game they are playing, they’d be better at the game because no matter what year of madden you play, you are playing football lol skill at that point is what separates you. It's about time madden started doing this type of stuff. Truth is the defense can only be so creative that's just the way it is. Offense has the whole field to work with, the defense can't cover the whole field you take a guess on what offenses are doing. Madden should be 40 points every game because we don't have tendencies of random opponents. look at Henry and dubby. Henry came to with a game plan to stop just dubby.

@@kooligan500 and now because you cant spam a defense, i have to deal with bots quicksnapping bunch money plays…. If you’re gonna take the cheese from defense, take it from offense as well… its like they’re trying to force everyone into man defense, match only works in cover 4 it is still glitched in cover three… zones still suck like always.. but even in man you can do the right shading and sometimes they’ll play it right but half the time they still get torched. Match is still broken against some formations, even cover 4 match against my personal secondary scheme over the past 10 years gun split close is still glitching cover 4 match. I would prefer there to be zero glitches in the whole game, but rpo defense is broken and now you cant even blitz it to stop it. Like the defense should play well enough that you don’t need a blitz. Someone should be getting free of the line before 4 second’s if you’re sending 4 because thats realistic… in the game that would only happen from loop blitzes because rushers dont run straight to the qb from the outside, they slow down and strafe like they would in a contain. This was nano-detection which they put in to stop the old blitzes… instead of fixing the offensive line from the beginning… so now the defensive line is dumbed down to compensate for the bad o-line play, but they fixed the o-line and now you just have watered down defensive linemen🤣🤣🤣 they put the game on easy mode to lower the skill gap because most people aren’t good at the game. Thats why the game previously had to be so flukey to keep games closer so people who sucked wouldnt quit playing because they were getting smoked. This year before the patch was the biggest skills gap I’ve seen in a madden over the past decade, and when players stopped playing they said they had to do something to try to get them back. So they appeased the majority that was getting frustrated with their lack of skill to try and win them back. There wasn’t a single blitz you couldn’t pick up with the right blocking adjustments pre-patch… now the blocking adjustments don’t even work. They made the game monkey mode is all that happened 😂

On your CBS deep zone KO for sure. Since they’re responsible for anything vertical on the outside. You could argue the same for a safety. It kid zone KO since that works sidelines 15-19 yards as well as the middle of the field if they were to match a post. The rest is up to you acrobat or pick artist

@zan I've always used your tactics of match since I learned about it. Right now I play match zone a lot but I set my zone depths. I have been shutting people down hardcore and unless they're super good at making reads and playing the game, they're going to have huge trouble with it. If you set your zone drops, then you're just playing zone drop coverage. You're not playing match. Not always the case, but for the most part ,zone drops cancel match or fk up the coverage.
