Sorry that you’re forced to make this heart breaking decision . It is a very brave thing when someone has to let go of such a honey of a Jeep . Just as you do , hoping it will go to a good home with a loving parent . The dauntless engine sounds good . That is rare . Very brave of you to climb into a CJ5 with your knee as it is . People with not such a problem or bad back complain climbing over the body design hump that once was for the fuel filler on the early CJ . I’m not really a CJ7 fan but respect the Jeep . Wondering would it be better for you in the future ? Yeah , it’s different characteristically but I’m sure your CJ5 skills will carry over if you make the move . Since you’re a CJ guy , I don’t know could you see yourself in a YJ or TJ . Love the TJ but high dollar for a clean body and chassis if could be found . A solid YJ is rare too . Sorry that the CJ7 is getting up there in price now too .

I'm honestly not a "cj guy". I've only had FSJ's previously. But I grew up in my uncles, that was built very similar to this one, so when I offered this one for a damn good deal, I couldn't turn down. So, I started learning, improving, and fixing. But I could definitely see myself getting a CJ7 down the road to build out and use like I planned to use this one.

@@marcusmayhemadventures6479 A full size Jeep is missing in my life . I never forgave myself for selling my ‘78 2 door Jeep Cherokee . Looks like we will have to see you in a CJ7 and maybe a FSJ too . Hope you get a 360 w/ T-18 D20 and D44’s . Yeah , I still kick myself .

My last fsj was an 82 cherokee moderately built 4.2 and 5 speed. Small lift with cut fenders for 35's and lockers front and rear. Had to get rid of it due to emissions laws that came into effect and couldn't get it to pass and was horrible just seeing it sitting for years.

@@marcusmayhemadventures6479 Yes sir , got a little Jeep history going on as well . The ‘78 Cherokee was my first Jeep . My second is my ‘92 XJ , still in my possession but needs work . Had my hands all over it since 2001 . In 2015 got a ‘80 CJ5 . Pulled the iron duke and put a 258 w/T5 D300 . Custom built rear shaft and CJ7 front shaft . It actually runs better than my ‘92 XJ HO 4.0 . Imagine that . Still needs some, tub repair but still fairly solid . Then there’s the 1973 CJ5 torn apart in my yard . Rear frame repair needed but perfectly doable . The tub needs a serious overhaul . Well , it was a snow plow Jeep . That will be my life’s accomplishment . Tore it down , now got to get it back together . Somebody light a fire under me ! Ran when parked .

@gmoney9588 damn definitely a Jeep guy aren't ya. My main vehicular passion is IH. I've had my share of FSJ's and Tin Grill/ Power Ram Dodges but IH is in my blood. I'm the 3rd gen owner of my Papas 67 1/2 ton that he bought new and had taken it apart to the last bolt and am slowly building it back up with my oldest to pass to him. Also have a 57 IH Metro I'm building with my youngest for a camper/ taco truck. A 1960 4x4 Panel for my daughter that she stole the day I brought it home when she was 2. And a 73 travelall that I got on trade for a piece of property and will be getting ready to auction to pay for the rest of the builds.
