People don't understand that it's harder for men in China to find Chinese women to marry because of the "one-child" policy they had from 1980 to 2016 due to China's over-population. By 2016, they were allowed to have 2 children. With the one-child policy many couples had to make a choice and keep a son and give up a daughter because boys were and still are important to carry their family name etc. That's why so many girls had been given up for adoption, and most of these girls were adopted by people outside of China. I think it was one of the most cruel policies in Chinese history. So by the time these men (the "sons") grow up and their time to find a wife, there isn't enough Chinese women in China to find. So they look outside of China. And many of these interracial marriages work because it's really who you marry, not the colour of their skin. Respect for each other and cultures is important. And you can love anyone no matter how they look, what the colour of their skin is, what their social background is, their education, etc. It's life. There are good and bad people in every culture, and I can tell this couple are meant to be together.

But for those born in the 80s, 90s, 2000s, when it's time to find someone and marry, it's rather hard to find enough women in China around the same age as them. I think this is why more and ore Chinese men are looking outside their culture to marry. By the way, good job in opening your husband up into showing affection in public. I'm sure you know that's not always easy for Chinese people to do.
