One of my biggest gripes with the lmg balancing was how they made the first LMG basically a spray and pray AR. You're going to use it once, realize you get better accuracy from an drum mags special carbine, then you won't touch LMGs until you get the combat MG which has been meta since the dawn of time.

I still use the original MG. It sounds nice and it gives me a military feel due to the recoil and it looks nice for military cosplay. But MY GOD.....an MG that functions like an AR and is even better than an AR is absolutely fuckin ridiculous. The gun can even be reloaded in 2 secs. That in itself is beyond nuts.

@@a6pukoc113 I find Call of Duty games make realistic guns; take Black Ops 1 and the M60 for example, that baby hits like a truck with its 7.62s (I recall it using those?), but shoots a bit slower. I love the M60 anyway, be it with bigger 200 or smaller 100 round mag (in the game). Of course the same gun is in many games, but that’s just the first one I could think of (and my first time ever playing with the M60, back in the day).

Wouldn't make much sense, but the P90 from GTA4 could make a comeback. By default it comes with 50 round magazines and could come around with a buff to the other SMGs. The only time I use the SMGs is if I'm either on a motorcycle or if I accidentally pull out the micro SMG while driving.

The biggest issue of weapon balance is that LMGs literally outclass everything close-to-Mid range, and even long range if you free aim. I wish R* would just overhual the system, to have specific groups of weapons be better in a specific thing rather than having LMG better a better pick overall. - SMGs always highest fire-rate, Lowest ammo. Damage fall off at longer range. But As long as you can aim for the head you can get the kill. - ARs best accuracy, no specialization. Meaning that each are only slight better as things. - LMGs Poor accuracy, High damage per shot, higher range, movement speed reduction but increased accuracy in cover or standing still. - Shotguns need more pellets at close range, and higher damage. - Snipers should always be a 1-2 shot kill. There is a reason why most people straight up just run around corners with rpgs. It’s an instakill as long as you shot around them, no point in dealing with latency issues if you blow them up. I hope GTAVI, has better combat because I can’t deal with the current state the games in terms of PvP.

This thing is basically an anti-helmet machine in online then, practically instant follow-up shot on headshots, you can take faster sweeps since there won't be as much of a gap between shots.

I had an pretty cool idea: I would like to customize the ballistic suit. Now hear out, here are the options: -You can decide between a few optical outfits -Different types of weapons: 1. The standard minigun 2. Cerberus flamethrower 3. Insurgents 50Cal 4. MP Mk2 with ballistic shield 5. Stinger Mk2 (Only fireable when locked on) -Changing the 3 stats to higher and lower 1. Speed (Walk speed) 2. Handling (Recoil and Accuracy) 3. Armor (Bullet- and HE-Resistance) Each change decreases and increases the stats differently (+Armor = Speed-) -Usage also possible for specific missions.

This is how I wish Rockstar made guns in the game. If they had the RPM of real life guns they'd feel much better to use but for whatever reason Rockstar opted for low RPM across the board, except for the minigun. If I'm not mistaken even the fastest firing assault rifle in the game fires slower than an actual M4

Yes please! The regular base MG could also do with some buffs, more specifically on damage per shot and recoil spread, the recoil is specifically bad when compared to the Combat MG and since it makes you miss all the shots after a second or two of constant fire, the gun is essentially worthless for third person PvP, it does performs better on first person but then it comes the second problem which is low damage.

Well they are going to have to since they are ending the gta trope of pocket guns. The heavy weapons are going to be fundamentally different hard to say how advanced they'll get if its gonna have different hindrances in weight, ammo capacity etc.

That bank shootout was something comical: That one dude who was dangerously close to the gunfire, probably deaf by then, still got away even after hit by a car, NOOSE started shooting at a civilian who was just trying to drive the hell out of there, the taxi driver, and surprisingly no civilian casualties even before they evacuated. I approve of this gun. 10/10.

I just wish NPCs weren't such insanely tanky bullet sponges. I was recently in a firefight with some regular, unarmored cops using my fully upgraded LMG MK2. Every time I blasted them, they just got back up again! It was more like a game of whack-a-mole than a shootout!

I would love to see this MG be added to the game. I do feel like Assault MG would be a cool name for it where as giving it similar names to the rifles like Heavy MG or Service MG wouldn't be as cool (but they would sound more aggressive, I guess).

In my opinion, these stats and sound would work a lot better for a new SMG or a new mk2 variant for an existing SMG. They could give it the appearance of a Vector SMG, and it would be balanced because the mags are not as big as LMG mags, but they can also add a drum mag to it. Also, it would have SMG range and bullet speed. Maybe make it a PDW mk2?

At 1550 rpm, the MG42 otherwise known as "German Mustachio'd guy buzzsaw" is almost the gun you described. It was an aircraft-mounted gun that overheated even at freezing temperatures when on an airplane. It is almost a minigun-like LMG, so you should balance it against the Minigun as well, because you can crouch behind stuff with a LMG. It sounded more like a Warthog than a machine gun. The sound you put is like a Thompson WWII era smg that fired .45 ACP bullets, but the idea is valid.

I think this would be a great idea. Given how people are starting to really enjoy the mini SMG due to using it with this week's Contract Jobs 3x payout (it's in the sharpshooter loadout which is the default loadout), it's clear many people enjoy fast firing weapons.

The fire rate was always an interesting topic for me. Sadly almost non of the guns have matching sounds and actual fire rate so I don't think they would make this work. Right now the fastest firing guns are the Mini SMG and the AP Pistol and they are around 6-700 RPM and the sounds actually match. I really miss GTA IV in this regard because the sounds were correct. As for GTA VI the leaks indicate we'll get the same as GTA V sadly as the M16 still have around 500 RPM and 700 in sound :( In my opinion they should rework the whole system but I don't think it will ever happen

Honestly the Heavy Rifle should've had a slow fire rate with high damage, would've made sense since it's partially based off a SCAR-L, and the Service Carbine being the inverse of that would be perfect for the two newer ARs imo. Not sure how I'd rebalance the Military Rifle, or especially the original ARs, other than making the AK much more punchy to offset it's issues, and making the Advanced Rifle have a more noticeably fast fire rate.

LMG category desperately needs some love in this game. I wouldn’t really mind if R* actually gave us 2 of them: The first one being 1000 RPM monster with huge mag and slow reload time, whereas the second MG (with even more RPM) would be trading relatively small mag capacity for quick reload time. Both of them should share similiar TTK, recoil and most importantly HIGH FIRE RATE.

Nice concept. Making it a mini minigun doesn't seem a good idea, but having it set up like the existing ones with almost the same damage will be great. The sound is bad, mostly because that's what we have in the game. Still, every single new weapon Rockstar releases for some time has been amazing in the sound department, for instance: The Cayo Perico shotgun and rifle, the heavy rifle, the service rifle, and the WM pistol. Even the so-hated Precision rifle sounds amazing (but that's it, which is a shame. It could've been more). So, there's a chance that if Rockstar ever releases a submachine gun again, it'll come with great sound. Do you know what I really want and maybe a lot of people might like? A fire mode selector (the "burst" and "single" shots on some guns in CoD, MoH, CS, and BF). I shoot my service and heavy rifles in bursts and they're something else.

I haven't used my Combat MG in years. Thing is when the difference between body shot kills and head shot kills is often like 10:1, there's literally no reason to ever aim for the body especially with how easy it is to use movement to lineup for headshots easily. For this reason we see the go-to weapons being the special carbine mk2, bullpup mk2, and service carbine because they are so insanely accurate with a high rate of fire. I would probably use the MG more if it sounded better.

Honestly, impulse wants to say: "...So a mingun you can take cover with?" yet at the same time, I agree with the notion that there is no variety in LMGs. Hell, an entire update that gave box mags to basic ARs made them superfluous untill that same coin would flip after the release of Gunrunning. Frankly I'd love to have an LMG that fires like a proper "accuracy through volume of fire" weapon for once even if it is a slippery slope. Then again, in that same vain I'm the type who just wants stuff like buy-able health packs we can store in our inventory for full health like Max Payne Painkillers so, what do I know :P

I do think you could up the damage per shot to maybe 25 instead of 21? It's just that the same dps as the normal combat lmg means the combat lmg is much more effective because it does the same damage for less bullets you might miss

If two guns have the same dps, the one that shots faster has an advantage because any miss shots would impact less the dps. So, to balance out in this situation, the best option is to buff the slower gun, preferably in accuracy.

It would be a lot faster than the combat or regular MGs but it would also do less damage to make up for it. To me that would be a blast to use since the MG42 is one of my favourite guns.

I had an idea for a "heavy minigun" which uses the triple barrel minigun model found on some aerial vehicles such as that shitty jetpack and as an option on the sparrow, it would have a high fire rate, however lower than the normal minigun and it would do more damage, also maybe a mk2 variant of the minigun would be cool
