Kevin, the moment they disconnect zandspruit the lads destroy all surrounding infrastructure to get more cable to reconnect. Or it goes to the industrious who turn it into pots. My local substation is constantly being robbed, but i see no security cameras, surely the local security companies can put it on screen at their command centre. Oh yeah and for the folks of jhb and surrounding areas, I’ve trawled the internet again and find no water infrastructure tenders again today. I check every single day because piping is my business.

We should not only blame Eskom but government because most of the foreigners are living in the informal settment. The Sap, security companies should get together to go to these areas and just disconnect. And no worries about increasing the bills

They do go into these squatter camps, disconnect wiring etc, but the corrupt contractors help them reconnect thd very next day. Eskom ignores that, they shoukd go back and disconnect over and over....oh but its way easier to hike the cost by 36% 😂😂

Eskom and Government don't care at all as no one bothers to see the legal connections are Legal. It was heard some Eskom worker help in illegal connection. They Eskom readers that go around and read meters every 2 to 3 months. Then bills are estimated in between.. We had one phase that was over estimated by 6600 unit. When daily reading was taken we used approximately 4 to 10 units per day. These type of estimates is a big concern. We have to pay the bill first before they can do adjustments. I feel its a way for Eskom to cover their costs and feel that corruption has not stopped. I feel we being used to pay for the Plakkies Camp that is nearby us. This is an unfair situation as this will kill our farming community. This is hard to continue operating. Time to do a full audit in Eskom.
